That is not a terrible idea.

Go Hurst, Sample, Hudson. Draft the kid from Illinois in Rd5 or so.

Then we could be all about DT/OT/CB/S/WR in FA & the top of the draft.

Hurst had a pretty serious concussion… missed 8 games I believe. I’d be for bringing him to be a guy, but not THE guy. He wouldn’t change my draft strategy

I remember Hurst's dad saying he had some post concussion amnesia. I'm not sure he will be on any roster in 2024.

Alright, Tier 4 time. Spots where I do not expect any moves: DE, QB, PK, and LS.

11. Defensive End

A. Signed

Player: Cap; Dead Cap, FA Yr, PFF L3, 2023 Snaps

1. Hendrickson, $20,166,666; $7,833,334; '26; 82.3/85.0/72.4, 744 D + 5 ST
2. Hubbard: $10,150,000; $4,000,000; '26; 61.9/72.4/64.3, 714 D + 6 ST
--------------Starter Line-----------
3. Murphy: $2,860,741; $10,298,689; '27/'28, 56.2/x/x, 305 D + 88 ST
4. C. Sample (DE/DT): $1,252,036; $197,036; '25; 61.6/58.0/52.1, 376 D + 146 ST
5. Ossai: $1,652,196; $284,112; '25; 68.4/55.3/x, 177 D + 7 ST
-----------Future's/PS Line---------
6. Gunter: $915,000, $0, '25; x/42.5/x, Zero

B. Unsigned: None

C. Analysis

Everyone is signed. Trey through '25 and is playing at an all-pro level. Hubbard played injured last year but the staff love the guy & expect him to bounce back. We just spent a 1st on Murphy & knew he was raw. He improved as the season went on. Those three are locked in as the top 3 DEs. And pretty much preclude a major DE FA move or high pick.

You never know, though. It IS a premium position. If we trade down & get an extra pick? And really love a guy? I still doubt it. Sample is solid and can play inside some. We were all hoping for Ossai to breakout but an injury kind of derailed him. But both are in their last contract years.

Gunter made the 53 in 2022 and is still in the PS. He did block a FG that year.

I think we stand pat here. FA & draft.

Good info. I did not realize that. I would pass unless on a min-type deal.

Pats transition tag Dugger. Onwenu to hit open market.

He would cost too much $$$$ but I really Danielle Hunter.
We need another DE other than Trey
That can generate more than 9 sacks a year
And more than 40 pressures.

Allen to be tagged by Jags. Dugger tagged by Pats. Full speed ahead on Wilkins/Williams/Reader at DT and Onwenu at OT/G my book.

S/CB next with what is left. Maybe P or TE or WR if the bargain is high.

Quandre Diggs is a safety option that makes a ton of sense if we do decide we want to go the route of moving Hill down to corner. A true centerfielder that has a ton of experience. I think he would be an awesome fit here and shouldn't be massively expensive.

Bears tag Johnson.

Seahawks release Adams & Diggs. That FA S market just got deeper.

No way the Ravens were going to let their 26-year-old, 13-sack, 2nd-team all pro (with 12 tackles for loss and 33 QB hits) go. But the Ravens also are in a bad place with their cap, and if they don't get a new deal, where they can push money down the road, they will have to jettison some good players. They are 10 million over the cap and have to clear that space by March 13.

A vet FA safety on good value seems like a great idea.

This is why I thought they might not tag him.

Alright, position groups are almost done. Still in Tier 4: no action expected.

12. Quarterbacks

A. Signed

Player: Cap, Dead Cap, FA Yr, PFF L3, 2023 Snaps
1. Burrow: $29,714,000; $154,714,000; '30; 77.9/90.8/91.7, 602 O.
-----------Starter Line-----------
2. Browning: ERFA tender $915k, '25, 79.3/x/x, 469 O
-----------Reserve Line--------

C. Analysis

Burrow is obviously locked in long term. We tendered Browning, and as an ERFA (this year and next), he is not going anywhere until '26.

A QB3 for the PS could be picked up or drafted real late. We released McCarron so he could go play in that other league.

Yes, after hearing about Hurst's concussion problems I think I would pass.

Great news on Onwenu, he is who I want at RT the most.

Damn good player alright, always liked Danielle Hunter. He would improve our pass rush like crazy.
