Having 6 starters out is not ideal.  No idea what the deal is with CES and Stephenson, but there are legit sinkholes in this lineup.  A bunch of them.  May is going to be a gauntlet.  They really ned some of these guys to be available and fast.

Cruz gave up a grand slam to Croneworth which cost us the game. Reds needed more offense too.

Team batting average .218, only two teams worse in MLB. We have 306 strikeouts, only four teams in all of MLB have more. Our OBP is .299, again near the worst in the league. You just can't win many games with this bad an offense.

16 wins, so a good April

Now Reds need to get their first win in May and get 15 wins this month. A new month, a new months goal.

Win games, Fill the seats of GABP. MAKE MONEY. Reds for a change are Home for a major Summer Holiday Weekend. Reds have San Diego in GABP, followed by LA Dodgers Memorial Day Weekend in GABP, and starting Monday Memorial Day St Louis Cardinals are in GABP. Reds should make money hand over fist with these top teams in Cincinnati, and Fans spending money during Memorial Day period.

Baltimore Orioles in GABP this weekend to get May really going. So Trivia. Reds played Orioles in 1970 World Series. Who were the Third Basemen for each team ? Who were the Right Fielders for each team ? Who was the MVP of the series ? What ballparks did Reds play in during 1970 season when in Cincinnati ? How did 1970 All-Star Game in Cincinnati end ? In 1970 World Series Game 1, this Red was called out at home when Orioles catcher didn't even have the ball, but no replay challenges back then, and in 1975 World Series this player hit a key home run against the Reds in Game 6. Who was the player ? An easy one is who did the 1970 Orioles right fielder play for before Baltimore, and any Reds fan should know this one ? Reds got a player for him who they later traded to Atlanta and got a reliever who was a key reliever on 4 Reds World Series teams. Can you name that reliever ? Oh yes, Jackie Robinson was first MLB black player, what racial barrier did the right fielder break in 1975. Jackie Robinson in Cincinnati for 1972 World Series said he wanted this to happen, and 3 years later this right fielder did it. Who is the right fielder ? One last one, which 1970 Oriole became a Reds manager ? I'll add 1970 Orioles Paul Blair would end up on the Reds, but can you name the player who was on the 1970 Champ Orioles and the 1975 Champ Reds ? Hint, his initials are M.R. When asked if he minded going from being a starter with Orioles to being on bench with the Reds, he Said, " No, I get too see the best player in baseball every day in Pete Rose ".

54 year reunion as Baltimore Orioles at Cincinnati Reds. Baltimore a team of good young players who came on big, and Reds a team of good young players. The Baltimore Cather stands out, but the Reds De La Cruz stands out as 2 of the top young players in MLB. The future looks bright for both teams with so much top talent now up from their minors in The Bigs.

Bell and Pagan just cost them this one.

And this offense is absolutely anemic outside of Elly.

They are facing the best team in the AL and a pitcher who came in with 15 straight scoreless innings. It likely wasn't going to be pretty anyway.

It’s not just a tonight issue. Way too many regulars hitting <200.

Yep

Damn near the entire team outside of Elly needs sent down to the minors until they learn how to hit again, it's pathetic. Steer has even dropped to .246

We would be better off, just letting our pitchers bat instead of DH. How could it be any worse. For years, this team is at the bottom of both leagues in hitting, with decent pitching. It’s a joke that we have so many players batting on the interstate, below .200

Hitting coach should be under a lot of scrutiny at this point.

They now have a team .293 OBP only three teams in MLB are worse. If they don't come out of this TEAM slump soon, they're going to start digging themselves a hole.

And it slips away quickly. And it's hard to play .750 baseball in August and September to try and make a run.

Will they score another run this season? Holy shit.

I just don't understand how this team goes into a slump, like a team, the way they do. Then they all start hitting at the same time, then they slump at the same time.

Very frustrating to watch these Orioles pitchers throw these big fat curve balls right across the plate and they stand there and watch them...

Reds will come out of the slump soon. We still lead the league in stolen bases so that helps but you must get on base first. I'm calling it right now. A long winning streak starting today with Lodolo pitching.
