Roster moves 7/20/24

Active/physically unable to perform

CB DJ Ivey...no surprise here. He is likely to start the season there. That ACL was just torn too late in the 2023 season for him to be ready now
DT Devonnsha Maxwell

Active/non-football injury
TE Erick All

Good start.

Devonnsha is a little unexpected. Wonder if it's still the same knee issue that shut him down early last year.

Well, this was to be expected with Ivey & All. And not totally unexpected with Maxwell, given his injury last year as well.

I'd note that Tycen Anderson, McLachlan, and Cochran were NOT placed on any injured list. So, hopefully, they are good to go.

And for these three, I hope it is only temporary.

All being on this list means what we expected - this likely will mean the TEs to start the season will be Gesicki, Sample, Hudson, and McLachlan.
Then once All is ready to come back, see how the TEs (and RB/WR) are doing to assess if one is worth dropping for All or if they carry 5 TEs and go lighter on WR or RB.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I don’t wanna sound doom and gloom but i think we need either of Dax, Newton or Ivey to become starter level guys or we are gonna have trouble in about 2-3 seasons

Yeah, this Maxwell guy was great at Chattanooga. His sacks and pressures were insane. I was hoping we could see some of him this year.

Good to know on Tycen, McLachlan and Cochran. Hope they are all ready to go. Tycen had a great preseason last year before the injury.

McLachlan was a very talented TE for Zona. Heard some good things about Cochran earlier this year, might be decent Tackle depth for us.
