For me, it's Hill v Turner for OCB2. I always felt Hill was best suited to the slot, and his FS experiment left much to be desired. I was skeptical when they announced he'd be moving to OUTSIDE CB but everything I've heard since the official move has been positive. I like Turners speed but he lacks the physicality I want in my starting corners and he had a pretty bad second half of 2023. Let the best player win what I hope is a true battle for that spot.

I'm also interested to see if Ossai comes out firing and wins his roster spot. He'll be hard pressed with Murphy a lock, Sample a solid veteran, and the new blood we drafted.

WR3. Charlie Jones is in the mix, too.

I'd say NT but I'm intrigued more on how they'll even use the DTs as opposed to just the normal may the best guy win debate.

I said CB. I think DJ & Dax will have a spirited battle. I think Rankins and Hill are the tackles with Jenkins in rotation and MSU kid goal line short yardage.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I'm going with right tackle by default just because our line is the only thing holding us back from a Super Bowl win.

Definitely Cornerback.

Neither DJ Turner or Dax Hill are coming off good seasons and both are likely to see alot of snaps. We know Hill's upward battle switching positions and Turner needs to start using his hands more often and just play more physical. Bengals were around top the top 5 in cover 1 last year and have played alot of cover 1 since Lou took over as DC which puts alot of stress on the boundary corners and free safety.

I voted WR3. Zac had been consistent in discussing how Burrow throwing to Boyd/Chase/Higgins was the offense. Now that Boyd is gone who takes over for him?

I vote CB as top one followed by RT

I feel like it's gotta be either CB or WR3 because neither has a proven guy who could take that spot.
NT and RT have some early draft picks who might push the newly-added veterans, but at least there's a veteran there.

I was bullish on both Hill and Turner in their drafts, so I might be more optimistic than some/most when it comes to them, but I'm expecting that CB spot to be improved this year regardless of which player takes it.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

For me, the most interesting position group battle has to be NT, actually both interior DL spots. As a defense that had much trouble in stopping the run last season, it's most important to get that group ironed out and solidified ASAP.

As for rookie impact on the interior DL, I wouldn't expect either Jenkins or McKinley to make any big contributions immediately, but as the season rolls on they both need to step up to being valuable rotational contributors.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Not listed was RB. Is it a given Moss will be RB1 over Chase?

If you’ve been keeping up with the coaches interviews and stuff i think it will be a TRUE rotation

If Chase Brown can pass block i think he actually gets more snaps

But we pass too much for Moss not to get the most snaps

Moss will be RB1. Only because of his experience and size. But I’m expecting Sample to be the lone back in obvious 3rd down passing situations

Other: Punter

CAN'T have another 2023 Brad Robbins performance at that position. Need Austin McNamara to really just show up big in that battle.

I went with NT as well for this exact reason.

SS for me (I guess I'm the only one). 2nd choice RT. I choose these two because these positions aren't going to see platooning once the season starts. All the others are going to rotate so they will have a chance to develop. Plus Vonn Bell is on a 1-yr. deal so I don't see him as the future guy.

On flip side, Moss might loss reps due to his lack of pass catching

Nice thread J24. I voted for Nose Tackle as I think that is our biggest question with Reader leaving but all of these position battles
are intriguing. Right now Trent Brown got put on the IR so Mims has RT locked up for the moment. I think Burton will win WR3 with
his talent and could be an upgrade over Boyd right off the bat who has been kind of falling off the last few years.

I have only heard good things about Dax at Corner this offseason, sure would be nice if he played well there. I really like DJ Turner's
speed and fluid hips but he lacks some size and physicality, something Dax does not lack. I think it would be a mistake to start Vonn
over Battle on passing downs. Battle was pretty great late last season and was maybe the best rookie Safety in the NFL last year.

I don't like the thought of punishing Battle when he played so well. Bell should be in on running downs along with Battle as well
because Geno Stone wasn't a good run stopper last year. Just so many things going on with this team this year. Could be a great
season, we will see.
