Daily observations from camp
Evans out for the season with a torn patella tendon.

Sickening injury saw it happen to someone playing “soccer” once and his knee cap basically ended up in his thigh.

Makes me wretch thinking about it.

This is horrible for Evans because i truly believe this year was his last chance in the NFL and it was cut short

I believe he would’ve won a spot returning kicks besides Charlie or would’ve been backup KR

His career is likely over

It just sucks it’s over because of injury and not him being cut

Hopefully he can land in Canada or the UFL or XFL or AFL

I would hate for this to be how football ends for him. Nice man

You guys always list the wins they have in the last 3 years. How many playoff wins, Back to back AFCCG that's fine and dandy but Where the hell are the Lombardi's?? it's been 55 years. KC has 3 of 4 SB in the last 6 years.

Wins in preseason are fun- but have never been an indicator of regular/postseason success

Then on the other hand maybe you are right and they really don't care if they win or not by the way they look in most of their preseason games.

Preseason and Training Camp are only exciting because it means we are close to the football season starting.

I just hope to see no major injuries from here on out.

3 more weeks until we have something noteworthy to discuss on the boards.

Browning was also playing with a rib injury. He played against 1's when it counted last year and did a damned fine job for a backup QB. I can't believe people are actually saying Woodside is better because of a pre-season game.

Well yeah, it was a joke but I admit it was in bad taste. I don't want him hurt, I just want him off the team and the slot taken by someone else who can produce. To me Evans is a wasted spot.

If they wanted to win in pre-season, they would play the starters. Score means nothing. The players know this. Pre-season is all about player evaluation and sharpening skills. Keeping score is really pointless.

Why would you think this, he hasn't done it the entire time he has been here? People rag on Carman and Volson on a daily basis, but this guy has been a wasted roster spot his entire time here. I wish him well, somewhere else. Hopefully he can find a spot on another NFL team.

So much this. The sample size difference in between Jake and Logan is enormous.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

IN that spirit, Zax said 1 starter will play on Saturday. I'm thinking  of the winner of the Hill vss Turner battle

People don't really care about how well a 6th or 7th rounder does.
The only reason people rag on Carman and Volson is because of where they were drafted.

I agree with you though, Evans has done basically nothing since being a Bengal.
His snaps count declined after his rookie year, which is a sign he's pretty much not going to do anything more than ST.
I'd rather see them roll with 3 RBs and go an extra TE unless Collins can pass block well enough to justify sticking on the roster over McLachlan.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

C'mom man. Jaguars, Stealers, and Commanders all went 3-0 to start the season last year. Bears and Texans the year before. Establishing winning in the preseason doesn't do a damned thing, other than potentially hurting some starters by "establishing a winning culture."

I honestly doubt most nfl players care if they win a preseason game.

I think the starters probably want to leave with the lead.

You do realize that we've only played 1 preseason game. It was a joint practice yesterday.

I do think Burrow needs reps. We've started slow under Zac.

I'll go further than that. I'd say about half of NFL players don't really care if they win in the regular season. Sure, the competitive fire burns in some, but how many times have we seen players on the losing bench laughing it up and having fun in the 4th quarter. Some only care about the game check.

We will, due to Browning's ribs. We're rolling with Woodside and the blonde porn stache guy.

Eh...I wouldn't say folks don't care.  Been a ton of hype trains about 6th-7th rounders that wound up not panning out through the years.

We can't go with three RB's because Williams is basically a ST's guy.  Not to mention the terrible outing by Brown against Tampa that really makes you wonder if he should be getting significant touches or not.  But, the team needed to be looking at trades/waivers for another RB regardless of Evans's injury.
