Higgins Hamstring again, may not play

Is anyone really suprised by this?

No, I'm not.

What surprised me was slapping the franchise tag on Higgins and making him one of the highest paid WR's in NFL for one season.  When they had said they wanted to work out a long contract with Chase.  If they so make this contract with Chase, do you realize how much money they will be paying Chase and Higgins in 2024.  Plus Higgins isn't happy.  He wanted to go Free Agency last March, long term contract to a team that wants him long term.  Top players hate franchise tag, because if they get a bad injury they lose out on free agency big contract to a new team.

Higgins spent 2023 limping around saying he couldn't play as he waited for Free Agency, so I look for 2024 to be more of the same, only Bengals are paying him a lot now.

No, I'm not surprised Higgins may not play.  Saw this coming when he was ticked off about getting slapped with the franchise tag and begged Bengals to let him out of it.

What does surprise me is Mike Brown came out of a coma or something and took control of team again at age 127 years old, and has ticked off Chase and Higgins.  The team was running fine under Katey and others, but Old Man Potter came wheeling back into the movie. The NFL is amazed Bengals have made both top WR's unhappy, but it appears Mike Brown has taken his Geritol and running Dictator over things again.

none of us have any idea as to the scope and tone  of the discussions ..Higgins isn't happy?   can you share the conversations that you have had with him....contract discussions are a big part of the game ..its no big deal..what will get done will get done..Mike , Katey and others have been doing a pretty remarkable job the past 5 years

Lay it on the line.

The Bengals are about to play a season with both hand tied behind their backs.  Cannon fodder.

The Bengals, as much as I hate it, are not a serious team right now.

the Bengals are one of the most highly respected teams going into the season

This is clown shit before kickoff on day one.

many teams go through this..and the season has yet to be played..calm down

Tee's salary this season is below his current market value.  Not sure how you dont know this?

If they so make this contract with Chase, do you realize how much money they will be paying Chase and Higgins in 2024.

Combined, they will likely have a cap hit UNDER $34M this year.

Top players hate franchise tag

So?  Owners hate holdouts.  Fans hate ticket pricing.   The franchise tag is in their contract that they signed.

Higgins spent 2023 limping around saying he couldn't play as he waited for Free Agency

This is an absolute untruth.  Embarrassing take.

Tee is NOT faking his injury.  Only the most uninformed fans do not realize that the players who do this are the ones waiting on their current team to extend them.  Tee knows the Bengals are not doing this, thus he is rehearsing for the other 31 teams this season.  Faking an injury would be stupid and is very disrespectful to Tee.

The NFL is amazed Bengals have made both top WR's unhappy.

Neither player is unhappy.  Tee is being paid twice the amount this season alone than he has made his entire career.  Tee may be disappointed but he is not unhappy.   Chase said the contracts were "a little stressful" but was very clear he isnt unhappy.  Do you watch any interviews from the players themselves?

I am full Mike Brown on this one. Even though he's a cheap ass, this is one time it made sense.

Guess the question is how much would YOU pay Tee?

A while ago i said Tee wasn’t gonna get the deal everything thinks and ppl called me crazy

Imo i wouldnt pay his ass a 4/80M

The money speak different when it’s your money and Tee is 100% gonna miss at least 5 games every year

Agreed. I honestly think he's faking his injury. He's trying to get the Org to sign Chase. His value just went down to 4/10 to me.

It's a strange look.  He was smiling ear to ear when they interviewed him the other day.  Feels better than ever.

I think he's faking as well.

But if he is faking an injury it is not a good look at all for his auditioning for the other teams across the league if he expects top dollar WR money is it? Doesn't make sense to pull stunts like that. He is basically auditioning for the league for a top WR spot and the payday along with it that doesn't look like Katie, Troy, or Mike is willing to pay.

Soft tissue injuries are easy to fake, especially when a player has a long history of them.

People are really weird with this Tee is faking it stuff. Dude pulls his hammy getting out of his car.

Absolutely no way he’s worried about showing solidarity with Chase. Tee is trying to get himself paid after a terrible season last year. I guarantee he’s far more concerned with his own money than he is with Ja’Marr’s.

He's making $20 mil doing nothing. Of course he's smiling.

You unload a player as soon as you can who can’t even get out a car without pulling a hammy. Dumb dumb dumb FO.

Knowing Tee will never be healthy (they had three years of hammy issues to know it was chronic and career threatening) and not trading him to the highest bidder last offseason is the biggest blunder we’ve seen since taking Ross over Mahomes.

Tee is the one big move they made this off season to try and win a Super Bowl this year.  With everything this front office does wrong, tagging him was the right move.

They should have moved him when they could, knowing he was damaged goods. Hoping wishing and praying they got one more year out of him was a gamble.

A gamble that looks to have failed leaving them with a 900 yard receiver they could have replaced with one of the picks from trading him.

Yet here we are can’t even lean on him to soften the Chase blow.

If this was any other team in the division Bengals fans would see the disfunction and swear their  season was lost. A lot of Bengals fans have ignited the signs that this season is about to be a mess. But they’d see he signs if it was another team in the division that had the offseason the Bengals had with all the drama.

You gonna stick with that when he puts up over 1000 yds?
