Love Erick All and obviously didn't like the pick at the time, love being wrong about a player like this.

Same here. I thought it was a huge gamble and so far, it was worth it! Would like to see McLachlin get some time this season.

You and me were right there. What is crazy is the way a player that has been THIS injured just seeks contact like this.

And, and he has stayed healthy and hurts the other guy, namely Ends and Linebackers, just blows my mind.

I also really like McLachlin and his upside even if he is older. He is a very good dual TE just like All, doubt he is THIS good of a blocker though....

Never seen a rookie blocker like this honestly.

Ja'Marr Chase telling everyone Erick All has expanded the offense by helping marry the run and pass offense.

Also with a quote about expanding All's route tree. Right now it's alot of stick and flat routes lol.

With Sample coming back next year and Gesicki and Hudson on expiring contracts, it will be interesting to see what happens. I think we have to resign one of these guys for another year or pick up another receiving TE. So far neither Sample or All look like receiving TEs. My choice for a replacement is Oronde Gadsden II, although it's not clear if he's coming out.

Seems they (or at least Chase) think All is a well-rounded TE who can not only block but also catch.
He just doesn't seem like he will be one of those elite receiving TEs, which is ok for this offense.
He kinda reminds me of a Gerald Everett type.
He has put up solid receiving numbers but not top-tier.

I'd like to see All get more and more reps and start reducing Gesicki/Sample some to see how he may blossom.

I could see the Bengals being comfortable (right or wrong) going into next season with All as TE1 and Sample as TE2.
They could draft another TE on Day 3 to be TE3/4 to go along with McLachlan.

Gimme Tyler Warren from Penn St in the draft though if he's available in the middle rounds.
That dude might be playing his way into the 2nd round though when all is said and done.
He's getting 12+ YPR every season he's played in college, and he's already at 513 yards and 4 TDs this season. He could end up hitting 750+ by season's end. Plus, he's perfect TE size at 6'6", 250 lbs.

They throw to him as a checkdown real short routes where he needs a quick burst of speed to pick up yards which he does not have.

If they got him the ball when he was moving downfield in stride on ten-yard routes it would greatly improve his yards.

The guy is hard to bring down when he gets his momentum up.

He has been George Kittle-like in the blocking department. Love the toughness after catch he displays as well. Kid is the real deal and to think hes 12 months out from an ACL tear hes only gonna get better and better.

It's still early to judge Erick All as a receiver because his route tree has been pretty much hooks/curls and flat routes with one corner route. Very soon maybe tommorrow I expect those Flat routes All has been running to turn into a Wheel. I expect all those quick underneath hook routes to become stick & nod/straight seams or Corner routes. Although I don't know if they will work him into Mike Gesicki role this year (receiver alignments and more option routes).

I don't know if a 6th round pick who is in his age 25 rookie season and can't get active on gameday is really one to bet on. Margus Hunt was in his age 26 season as a rookie.

On a related note Chase is only 196 days older than All, so both TEs were on the older side for rookies.

I would like to see 2 tight end sets moving forward, unless they somehow find an elite 2nd receiver like Tee

If I had to pick an offensive player from this upcoming draft class that I believe could be a superstar in the Bengals offense it's Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka is a high end slot receiver that runs that best routes in the draft class, moves the sticks, and blocks his ass off. He's not a Tee Higgins replacement but is definitely a middle of the field receiving weapon the Bengals don't have right now.
