Well I'm pretty happy with the game.....

Despite all the negative nancys and the early quitters in the fanbase, this team showed a lot to me today.
Being down Hill and Rankins, even with them, they struggled with the run, but that's because the safeties were playing back. The linebackers played a solid game today.  More of Lou's bend but don't break.

Burrow again had all kinds of time, the offensive line grades ought to be good.
Yoshi scored twice, the TE's are getting a lot of work.

I like Moss. When they hand him the ball and there is no hole, he always finds a yard or two, unlike Mixon who would get stuffed.
Burrow looked more himself and will only get better from here on out.

We are playing without Tee. He will be back soon and then they won't be able to double Chase so much. Burton is coming along nicely.

Jenkins should be back next week which will help stop the run.

Washington, Carolina, Baltimore, the Giants and then the Browns. I can see us going on a nice win streak here.

Baltimore lost again today, so they are 0-2 as well. Pittsburgh will not sustain their wins and Cleveland is a time bomb waiting to explode.

Everybody seemed to be horrified this game was Nationally televised last week, and thought the Bengals would be murdered. 1 point game.  Tiger

Losing by 1 to KC in KC is understandable, but losing to the Pats at home was a mortal sin.

We should go atleast 3-2 over the next 5 to get back to .500. Maybe 4-1.

That said, we could lose to any of those teams too.

Yep, last week was a shitshow. This was not that same team today though. I expect them keep moving forward with this momentum.

Sucky loss, but if this was a lesser opponent, I would be worried. Now, I see no problem in them churning off some wins.

Well, I'm not happy. I'm pretty sad. I had expected a close game and the Bengals to bring their A (or A-) game. And I had mentioned this is a thread. But to have the Chiefs at 4th and 16 and lose is very, very painful. And to have to watch all the KC fans and Taylor Swift so elated added to the sting.

I agree with OP, I actually think today was good. Nobody likes an L, but let's not lose sight of the fact that we had Mahomes number today, and we consistently seem to have as well.

My main issue is, that if we played 'like this' every week, then ok we're probably pretty good. But I imagine we don't show quite the same fire against the Commanders, and don't look quite as good.

But... cross that bridge when we get there. I think there were good things about today. We absolutely need to figure out our run D though. Jesus.

Think I predicted a 31-16 loss, so the effort today certainly exceeded my expectations.   We'll get 'em next week (fingers crossed).

Moss is solid, but Brown is the far more dynamic of the two.
I love how fast he seems to hit the LOS once he gets the ball.
Give that dude a hole and he has a shot to really break out.

There were definitely some positives in the game.

To be honest, I was expecting the Bengals to lose by >7 points, so this loss wasn't terrible in my eyes.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

It’s the NFL. Ravens lost to the Raiders. Vikings beat SF.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Yeah, sucks to lose like that and one rookie might be to blame and I felt for the guy but damn was that one great game to watch.

Our team looked like the better team and they were 1 PI from beating the Champs in their place. Yoshi made a great grab, really liked
what I saw from our running game with Moss as you say, he breaks tackles with his great balance. Chase Brown was really explosive
and would of liked to see more of him. Love how Burrow finally started finding the TE's, really like Gesicki and All a ton.

Logan Wilson, Pratt and ADG played very well on Defense and Trey dominated this game and I feel sad for the guy when he had to go
out after putting out so much effort.

Need to get our DT's healthy and we can make a big run and get right back to battling for the entire thing again. Was impressed by
our fight in this game, McPherson needs to make those extra points though and we cannot have rookie DB's losing us games like that.

And don't forget that INT by CTB.

Overall I'm happy. Defense played exceptional I thought and more than you can ask for against the Chiefs. Probably only complaint is the offense as in years past has had a chance to basically end the game a couple times late and failed to take advantage. Drops happen but you can't drop the passes Gesicki and Yoshi dropped late if you want to win big games.

I know. Probably why this win will sting a little bit even with the good showing. The defense got us a decent amount of turnovers and to not take advantage sucks. Trey going off to feels wasted with a loss.

Great one handed catch. Showed his talent on that one for sure.

No. We are still lacking an identity on offense when we see it, I think TE will be a big part of it.

Gesicki is our best catching option at the moment.
