Yes... Two deep at the position.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Irwin's hands were low and stayed low.

Saw this yesterday from Gridiron Grading on Twitter...

Quote:Per NFL Next Gen Stats, Bengals WR Trenton Irwin is averaging 1.8 yards of separation per target. This is ranked 112 out of 113 qualified TEs and WRs. The league average is 2.96 yards of separation per target. The only receiver lower than Irwin? Tyler Boyd.

It was also a quote tweet saying after 2 games, Irwin has a PFF grade of 47.4 which ranks 83rd out of 84 qualifying WRs.

While I had stated last year and in offseason that I thought he was ok to have as a backup, he has not been good so far, and I also thought he played more ST than he actually has in his career.

With his performance so far this year and Bengals already being 0-2, I'm willing to let Burton learn on the job some and take at least half of Irwin's snaps.
Bengals need someone to step up when Higgins or Chase is down or getting blanketed.
Although that player might be Gesicki after Sunday's performance.

If we are talking about Irwin then he’s not playing well

He’s a guy who if he’s doing his job all well ever say about him is nice catch or something small

The fact we got 3 pages on him means we all see he isn’t good enough to have the spot Zac gave him.

Imo idc how well he blocks or does non catching stuff, there is no reason Burton shouldn’t be playing over him

Burton does not know the playbook. He can run down the sideline...

Goodberry pointed out that Irwin didnt secure another TD pass that went thru his hands on a 3rd down.

This was toward the end of the 3rd Qtr from the 3 yard line.  Would have been a contested catch for sure.

Part of that was believing the hype of some of these guys like Iosivas, Burton, Jones.

After 2 games, Iosivas only has 5 rec for 33 yards on 10 targets.
100 offensive snaps already, which is 38% of what he had last year.
If he continues the production pace he's on now, he'll only have 280 receiving yards.
At the amount of snaps he's getting, he needs to be on pace for 500+ to justify getting that many.

Irwin put up 25 rec for 316 yards on 429 snaps last year.
Similar to Iosivas, we expect his production to increase with more snaps.
Right now, he's playing 59% of the snaps, but he only has 2 rec for 11 yards on 8 targets.

Burton is either not far enough along in the development as many expected by this point, the coaches are being stubborn, or somewhere in the middle.

Some also expected Charlie Jones to also get some snaps on offense in his 2nd year, but that also seems to be something nonexistent.

So far, very underwhelming group based on expectations that we had or were sold on.

Yoshi will settle in. He is still getting his timing with Burrow between the 20s which is evidenced by the balls constantly arriving a little behind him. It will get there. Meanwhile he is reliable in the redzone already. Were I Burrow I would probably lead Yoshi a touch more on passes until he is comfortable.
