Joe Burrow can never ice a game

Joe Burrow iced multiple games on his 11-0 run to the Super Bowl. And that was coming off an ACL injury in his sophomore season with one of the worst lines in the NFL. He led the offense down the field for a game winning fg vs the top seeded Titans seed despite being sacked a playoff record 9 times.

And we're having his conversation because the defense committed pass interference on 4th & 16, not because of Burrow. Joe Burrow is an elite quarterback, period. He's performed in big games time and time again, while Dalton and Palmer faltered under bright lights. There's burrow, Mahomes, then everyone else.

While I agree, Joe didn’t go on an 11-0 run on 2021. That was 2022 when they went on a 10 game win streak and lost in AFC championship.

Well, they made Jake Browning look pretty good last year, so there's that .....

In the big games recently he has not come through SB, AFCC etc. This has been whispered about for more than a year now. Some may just be a little late.

Clutch wise, he's pretty much Dalton.

That would've been the Oline that was responsible. Worst Oline in Bengals history yet was in the Super Bowl. Are you a Bengals fan? You forgetting everything?

Miller was a stone cold killer. I'll never forget that Knicks series.

Against 3 non-playoff teams and Cleveland resting their starters. Pittsburgh ate his lunch twice, and the KC game was nothing to write home about.

Thanks for the correction. Joe Burrow still iced multiple games in 2021 though, including the very first game against the Vikings. He also iced the 34-31 win vs the Chiefs week 17.

Allen no matter how you cut it is a better QB then Burrow.

Is he? I think they're of a similar standard, though Allen definitely has the advantage of what he can do running the ball himself.

I think Allen is a great QB, but to me he seems to have problems winning when the lights are on. It's not as simple as this obviously, but he's 5-5 in his playoff career, and the Bills have had a pretty good team around him for most of that time as well.

Joe Burrow is 5-2 in the playoffs, with a defence that has done a lot of carrying... but he's 5-2 while getting sacked every other play, and with no serious run game.

In the regular season... unfortunately Allen's injury record clearly beats Burrow's, but their regular season stats are similar when looking at the year's Burrow has actually been fit for the season... with Burrow having a higher completion%, slightly more yards on average, slightly more TDs and slightly few INTs.

Interested to hear why you think Allen is a better QB?

he was the last guy you wanted to see with the game close.

but how clutch can he really be if he is 1-5 in conference championships and never won a NBA title? (Devils advocate)

And thus couldn't hold up enough to get 3 points in 7 tries?

They only lost by 8 at KC? Yes, the two Pitt games were bad....but the others were pretty good for a guy who'd been a practice squad stalwart and never seen live regular season action.

better Arm, better athleticism, more of a threat with the ball in his hands, got more out of less weapons, doesn't need a half of a season to get warmed up, and he had that win (that he lost in 13 seconds) against Mahomes. Overall there was more of a question if he was better than Burrow in 21-22, but certainly not anymore. Allen can make happen what Burrow can't.

Honestly Burrow has lost a ton of luster across the league with many of these young QB's taking his spot in the top 5....

Burrow really is damaged goods. Can we win with him yes, does he carry the aura that he used to around the league. No.

Ice in his veins. Stepping back from a wide open jumper to take the three was a hallmark.

He definitely comes better prepared to start a season I'll give you that. Definitely the more athletic guy. They should have won that playoff game, and tbf he'd have been 4-2 against Mahomes had they.

I'm not too sure what the point of a comparison post 2022 would really mean though. Burrow had about 6 healthy quarters last season. When they were both available, Burrow's stats are a little better than Allen's. But availability is a pretty big trait to have admittedly.

In Burrow's 5 years, can anyone really say how he has developed? What he does better now then before? Where he's grown as a player?

The truth is he hasn't really, and that is one of the reasons why there is so much frustration with the Offense at times.

And that’s usually the big knock on Allen. His interception percentage is the highest of all the top tier QB’s.

Rodgers - 1.4 Int%
Herbert - 1.7 Int%
Mahomes - 1.8 Int%
Burrow - 1.9 Int%
Dak - 1.9 Int%
Lamar - 2.1 Int%
Love - 2.2 Int%
Stafford 2.3 Int%
Allen - 2.4 Int %

In that years afc champ game we got an interception in OT and Mixon and a couple short passes (maybe, memory escapes me completely) got us to field goal range. Think about EVERY single playoff win we’ve had besides the Bills game. The defense got a turnover to win every one of those games. The end of our postseason both years came with Burrow getting the ball at the end with the perfect chance to be the hero. He simply does not get it done in those situations. I brought this up a while
Back and I got blasted for it. The homers in this fan base don’t want to accept that Burrow has not shown to be THAT guy. Maybe he still can get there but he’s not there yet. Honestly I had more faith in Dalton in those moments than I do Burrow, in the regular season only obviously. Burrows fumble lost us that game yesterday and he had multiple times after that to make up for it and win us the game. He simply can’t do it apparently. He’s a good qb, buts he’s not great and he can’t sniff Mahomes or Josh Allen’s jockstraps.

Are we talking icing the game or game winning drives or both? In the 2022 regular season game vs the Chiefs he hit Tee for the first down to run out the clock. Vs. The Bills last year he hit Boyd to move the chains and ice the game. Stirring the pot with this Josh Allen shit. Give me a break that ***** hasn't won anything.

Can't ice the game when your wide open WR drops the ball.
