Has Chase peaked
#1
Starting to wonder has Chase peaked as a player or has defenses adjusted to him and his style?  Since a monster game 10/8 last 12 games ( I ignored last game of year stats) he is avg 68 yards and scored just 4 TDs. This is not top 5 WR numbers and he has looked pedestrian in route running our first 2 games.

Chase on the Chiefs, 49ers, Dolphins, etc, would be an All-Pro.

Seems like it didn't take the league long to figure out Chase and Burrow. Chase was 12th in NFL overall receiving in 2023.

The film is showing Chase being continually open. last year he dealt with Browning and a hobbled Burrow. Due to his early historical success he is also the focal point of opposing defensive coordinators.

There are other players on bad teams or not top QBs putting up better numbers , I think the longer we go without top numbers you have to wonder have teams adjusted or has Chase maybe peaked
. With Washington and Carolina I think we need see him back to where he was back in fall of 2023

The Chiefs did an excellent job of doubling Ja'Marr Chase especially in key moments which the underneath passing game benefitted (TEs). I'm more worried about the other receivers winning their 1 on 1 matchups.

Ja’Marr Chase has not peaked. He just hasn’t practiced.

Maybe, just maybe he benefits from having Tee on the other side.

Haven't seen breakdowns of the Chiefs game yet. But he had a couple plays that could've scored week 1 and Burrow didn't throw it. I heard he also may have been open deep on the 1st deep shot to Burton. Chase has elite talent yes you still have to put that talent in the right spots and give them opportunity to see the benefits.

This feels like a hey guys was the front office right question. Answer no they were not.

So our QB is hampering Chase?

I have not seen the same burst or desire to dominate out of Chase in a while. Maybe the ref thing last week will ignite him to refocus on being the best once again.

Or a offensive mind that has more creativity with a top wr than "let's give him the ball in the backfield".

No. I think the Bengals OC/HC not only lacks creativity, but also fails to understand how a consistent threat/production run game would free up his WRs.... Currently teams sacrifice a S or extra DB to follow Chase around instead of staying home in case run support is needed.

It's really kind of pathetic to see how Taylor cannot do the math on this stuff.

Zac and Burrow are addicted to the pass game and refuse to kick the habit. Pacheco himself had 19 carries against us Sunday. 19/90 yds at 4.73 per and 5 catches for 21 yds. They get him the ball often.  But I see he is now hurt.

The gameplan on Sunday was to use him as a decoy and it worked perfectly.

It's just a shame that a rookie got to a jump ball 1 100th of a second too soon when playing the ball.

Some of his better games without Tee:

2022 vs Cleveland - 119 yards, 1 TD
2023 vs Arizona - 192 yards, 3 TD’s
2023 vs Houston - 124 yards, 1 TD

And those are just games Tee didn’t play at all. There’s also all the times where Tee got banged up, and was in and out of the game.
