Andy Dalton
#1
We seem to play him nearly every season since he left. He is 2-1with 4 TD and 0 picks. You best believe we will be facing pro bowl level Dalton and with this defense I'm seriously concerned

Me too. I won't be surprised if he kills us, I would be happy if we win though of course. He has a lot more motivation than we seem to have lately. Mixon would get 300 on us.

I'm still holding out for Primetime/Playoff Andy, 'cause that guy owes this fan base.

In his three previous games against he hasn't exactly lit us up.  He did okay.  The Dallas game was his best: 16/23 for 185 and two TDs.  And, in all games he's thrown no picks, so that's a big help.  In the Chicago game he didn't even get to play all that long before an injury chased him from the game.  So if we can see close to the same offensive output we saw Monday night and the defense can actually keep him somewhat in check, then we should win.  I hope.

I'm of the opinion that the Panthers win over the Raiders was a bit of a fluke. I'm thinking that the Raiders were pretty beat up from going toe to toe with Baltimore the week before, and Carolina was just able to capitalize on the situation.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Game time is 1 pm which is when you usually get good Andy. Remember, even with good Andy, we still lost a lot of games because the defense would let down the offense.

As bad as our defense played Washington, I think they bounce back and while I still think Andy gets his, I think we'll force enough stops where the offense will be able to build and then maintain enough of a lead to get us our first win of the season.

I highly doubt Andy will be as good as Jayden Daniels was against us. That guy was extremely accurate out of the pocket and has Lamar in his
prime legs to boot. THAT was a hard matchup for a Defense that never faced him. Andy is a damn good backup QB, maybe the best, but we know
him very well and we can actually flush him out of the pocket with Trey and not have to be too worried about him running for big gains, unlike the
QB we just played.

Hoping we start Cedric Johnson over Sam if he is that injured with the hammy.

We couldn't stop Dalton with a "good' defense.

Win #1 isn't coming Sunday.

The Panthers are revitalized and look like the better team.

I wonder if any team has ever been swept by the previous year's 3 worst teams? I imagine it's not common you play the 3 worst teams in one season, and I imagine going 0-3 against them even less common.

We don't play 2023's 4th worst team this year (Cardinals) but we do also play the 5th, 6th, and 7th worst teams (Chargers, Titans, and Giants, respectively).

Glad he won the starting gig.

Hope he is bad Andy on Sunday and craps the bed, but still keeps his role as starter.

Andy isn't the most skilled guy, but he has football smarts.  No one knows more than us that he can't always will the ball to do what he wants, but he's been around 14 seasons, and he's seen everything an NFL defense can throw at a QB.   And, he's a quality guy to have around a locker room.  He's exactly the guy you want as your #2, 'cause he can coach up your starter and he's capable to step in if need be.

I always liked Andy.  It was time back in '20 to move on from him, but I never would root against him.  There's still a 14 jersey hanging in my closet.  Hell, I hope he throws for 4,000 yards and 35 TDs this year.  I also hope he's off a bit come this Sunday.

Can we say Kirk Cousins is a better QB yet?

I actually think Carolina is a better team than people give them credit for. They were just severely held back by they're QB play. They were hanging in with the Chargers the week before until the lack of a quarterback took its toll.

Anybody in Cincy should have nothing but respect for Andy. He and his wife did a lot of good in this community.
