You would think. It's almost like a game anymore, where you're trying to guess how we are going to give up the yardage...

The Ravens are pretty much unstoppable in the run game with Lamar and Derrick Henry, so do we have any prayer of stopping them?

Our run defense has been horrible and, aside from that goal line stand, it was awful against the Panthers, so do we have any prayer of slowing them down?

Henry is playing like a man possessed and Lamar is Lamar, so do we have any prayer of slowing them down or will it be we have to put up a lot of points?

Facts don't care about your feelings. BIG THANKS to Holic for creating that gif!

Probably could have just been posted in the "40 by halftime" thread.  (But also, to answer you, probably not.)

They HAVE to get an early lead, and make Lamar throw.

Well they have lost as many games as they've won this year, so not unstoppable

If they overlook us, they will regret it. Being a division game, I don't think they are likely to do that, but one can hope.

We didnt have a good run stopping defense with Hill and Rankins. With those guys injured, its going to be an uphill battle for the defense. You have Carter and Tufele as your starters at DT and at DE your have Sam Hubbard playing more like Old Mother Hubbard with Hendrickson on the other side who isnt good against the run. Its going to be tough.

Only thing that gives me a speck of optimism is Hubbard played much better he was slightly below average and not piss poor like first 3 weeks. Logan is athletic to spy Lamar we need Bell Stone and Pratt to hold up in 1 on 1 coverage against Likely and Andrews. Andrews looks like he lost a step while Likely has improved with more playing time. I feel our corners can handle Flowers and Agholor. Tre and Anyone that gets free on a blitz needs to be extremely careful not to over pursue and keep Lamar from running. We are playing at home which is a plus.

They lost to the Raiders. There is always a chance.

If you can stop the run force Jackson to throw, and score some points, you have a chance.

I think the Bengals will make if a close game, maybe even win.

Adding Stone gives the Bengals a little insight as to the Ravens tendencies, and Jenkins is getting healthier/better every week, so there's help for stopping the run.

If the Bengals can get a stop or two, or force a turn over early so they can make the Ravens play from behind, I think they pull out the W. Especially if the o-line can keep opening running lanes and giving Burrow time to throw.

Let me add that our pass rush struggles will matter the least against Baltimore. Not that I want to see Lamar sitting in a clean pocket, however, with our run stopping and tackling struggles, I think keeping Lamar in the pocket may actually work in our favor as long as our DBs can actually cover guys. Lamar will want to run but may be confused on how if none of our DLmen are getting any penetration. lol

for the life of me..and I have closely followed the bengals for 25 years,,I simly cannot understand why the defense this year is so bad..and its far more than a couple of injured  defensive linemen up front

The problem is, it's not a couple, it's the first four in the IDL. Then, the top backup at DE is out as well. Hubbard has been playing dinged up.....and they sucked last year with starters out there, lol. It's a shit show this year.

Offenses have figured out Lou's concepts. We were never a top defense but one of the more opportunistic defenses. Now you see we aren't getting as many fumbles and forgetting to tackle. To be honest though, tackling is bad throughout the NFL. Nobody wraps ups and just tries to shoulder tackle.

I am still convinced that they intentionally took out our Oline in back-to-back games from the 2022 playoffs/season.

The Ravens have played well last two games, they are cooking on offense, Jackson healthy has beaten the Bengals most of the time and worried that the Ravens will keep us to FGs, since we seem to lack getting those longer completions this year, the hope is Ravens have struggled on defense against the pass, so maybe we can get a couple big plays on them. Gut is we lose by 10 though

That has nothing to do with Burrow shredding their Defense lol

And no, it is not the worst Defense in decades. They made Mahomes have maybe the worst game of his career.

Man, the overreaction around here is unbelievable. The Defense needs to get better at stopping the run and needs to tackle better.

These are things that can be corrected.
