Fire Zac Taylor right now..

Still really hoping we can right the ship. But we are about to play the Giants who are a scrappy team themselves. If things continue to go south we need to really consider trading Tee. I think this season has proved how much we need him but if it's not happening we need to focus on the rebuild.

I honestly believe this game was the final nail in another era. Tee gone, Chase gone, and I could see Burrow pulling a Palmer. They destroyed another one..

Except that poor interpretation. I do agree why were we happy in overtime to just sit on it and kick a long field goal?

I ado agree though. But n9t going to happen. He is on a contract, Mike will, not let someone go and pay them. Also, he took us to a Super Bowl ML only took us to playoffs and one and done he he stayed as long as he liked. He actually decided to leave.

Isn’t that the same team that held Washington to 6 FG’s?  The team we couldn’t stop even once from scoring.

If their Defense is that good, that’s another loss.

And are currently beating Seattle. We beat the ghost of Andy Dalton and the Carolina Panthers....that's it.

Vrabel got the Titans to a #1 seed with Ryan Tannehill as his QB. I refuse to believe a better coach couldn’t do more with this team. Even with the putrid defense.

I’d replace Lou with Vrable first.

It's like you didnt pay any attention as to why he wasnt hired anywhere else this offseason?

Bill wants a ton of control.  We wont give it to him and his drafting sucks about as bad as Duke.

Also, we would go through OCs every other year.

Hiring Vrabel to take over the defense is the first step, IMHO.

I would love Bill Belichek after today barring a remarkable turn around this season Taylor has permanently lost my trust.

I do agree that practically speaking... we aren't remotely likely to fire Zac (or anybody, let's be honest). But if we could shore up the defence, the offence can take over games and have us reeling off a few wins. Change in DC would be a potential quickfire way to stabilise the team.

There's no way they'd pay him. There's no way they'd give him control. And there's no way he'd want to work for the Bengals.

What's the path to shoring up the defense?

They've drafted a bunch of defensive guys that are averaged or worse.

They'd need to sign 3-4 good free agents. No more Nick Scott or Stones.

People were happy Carter got waived...and he wasn't good. He was a 3rd Round pick from 22. 3rd round pick!

Our defensive drafts have sucked.

Fun thought, hard knocks in season is covering the AFC North. Curious how this meltdown gets exposed in a few months.

Coaching change. Clearly the talent pool is problematic (and not looking encouraging either), but a difference in coaching could improve things. Could also not improve things, but we're very much on the verge of wasting another of Burrow's seasons... and this one he's actually healthy. Not sure what we have to lose really. Defence has been diabolical so far. Depends on how much you think Lou can turn things around.

I've never been a Lou fan.

From 1-4 12 games left. Would need to finish 9-3 to get 10 wins.

The schedule is there... and I do think the offence can be good enough to manage that. But the defence needs to just be passable enough to do their bit... yes they are deficient in talent, but I can't understand how anybody could have any confidence that Lou is the man to get it to work. Maybe nobody can, maybe our defence is just that awful, but we can't sit here and waste a season of healthy Burrow on this defence.

Yeah tbh Zac's comment there sounds more like one for the cameras than anything else. I'm sure he believes it and he's hardly going to say 'yeah we suck'. But nobody could objectively look at the Bengals and think we're remotely a SB candidate right now. And we were meant to be coming into the year.
