Bring Back Robbins

Regardless, talking about Burrow isn't relevant to your initial comments about punting or needing a great punter. Yes, we need a great punter. There is no substantive reasoning to your position. Again, can you actually clarify your point about not needing a great player?

It would be different if he said bring in Robbins just for holding...

Oh but it is. Fans with Star QB’s aren’t screaming for a number 1 punter. They just aren’t no matter what people here think. The need for a top punter is an indirect attack on Burrow given it’s clear there is no faith in the offense to get to mid field every drive. And what’s worse? Fans are willing to sacrifice FG’s for one.

I never said to cut Rehkow. Don’t let the PG’s made up arguments mislead you.

I even said I’d be for a backup qb holding.

What I am arguing is kicking is more important the punting for a top 5 offense with a qb ranked 1 or 2 in all major categories.

So quick to abandon the astute for the PG. This probably wont age well given my record of being right all along.

Just as being under the influence prevents ranking selection, so does mental instability.

In Tony's defense, it is usually on game days.  Most of the time...

You're at over 13,000 posts here so I find it hard to believe you simply enjoy trolling to deliberately evoke responses from other posters. If I am wrong about that then holy shit.  Shocked

But kicking operations matter. Most.

We drafted Robbin’s because they felt they should never be punting from outside our 45. And there would be no need to “flip the field”. The hang time and directional kicking was his cash cow. With this Offense their vision can be realized.

We need Money to be money and it’s been a shaky start to his season. With this defense we need every point we can get.

If things are going to turn around I’d like to trust the game winning FG kicks again, and I don’t think it’s on Money.

Sacrifice the leg for consistent trusted FG kicks.

Blue Pill / Purple Pill - Which one do you all choose?

Blue Pill - Keep celebrating individual stats. Number 1 punter this, top qb that, clutch this, etc. on a 1 win team set to draft 2nd overall. Ok, to each their own.

Red Pill - We can focus on how this team can win. Having a punter punt 70 yards has done nothing but allow opposing offenses to take up half a quarter to march the whole field to score, while leaving our high powered offense minimal drives, no time left to win the game (Washington), or when they do have time to win a game they can't get the FG off. Building a team around a punter is for defensive minded coaches trying to win 16-13 score games. Just give them the ball on the 50 and let them score quicker at this point. Give the ball back to the offense as many times as possible.

About kicking operations being more important than punting on a team with a top 5 offense, and star QB needing to win shootouts?

100% of those outside of the jungle agree. Now here? Sounds like folks would rather have the 70 yard punts...

Which of course is fine.

I'm definitely not a troll. I just have a track record of saying things people don't want to say (or hear) out of fear of attack from other posters who don't like to hear differing opinions and team up to try to overwhelm anyone with a differing opinion. But it doesn't work with me. And the things I say are frustrating for some because they end up being common knowledge months later.

I mean when I questioned Burrows clutch reputation after week 1 (which is really why folks have been upset) after another 1 score loss, I took tons of heat, personal attacks, threats, and misleading claims of statements. Levels that many posters aren't willing to take. Many reach out to me and  say it. Now can I take it. Yes. Do I love it. Yes. Do I feel entertained by those who love me but hate to admit it. Yes.  Do I have fans and followers. Yes. And do I love them back. Yes. But it's easy to take when you know it's just a matter of time for the board to catch up. And 3 weeks later, unable to close out games, 3 and outs, bad sacks, fumbles and interceptions late and I am being proven right in real time. Right to at least wonder if the reputation is warranted. So you don't have to go back too far to see why I have the confidence I do. Just go back 4 weeks.
