I'm Liking Our Outlook Thanks To A Healthy D-Line!

I think a lot of men that size would have just stood and let the LBs and DBs make the tackle. But he was running full speed after the receiver. He didn't get there in time to make the tackle, but he was right there when the tackle was made. Seems Jackson has quite a motor.

absolutely  noticed this too...its a good sign
Also noticed him exploding off the ball a few times pushing into the backfield in addition to holding up on some double teams
May have finally  found something here
If he and Jenkins pan out this will be a huge deal going forward and frees up draft for an edge to replace Trey because we all know they arent going to pony up the $ to to retain him.

Well, they really could not have gotten much worse, but they are playing much better. Hopeful it continues.

Hell our dline is so good that good teams are poaching it:

Hassan Reddick has permission to seek a trade. Obviously it will require compensation (draft capital and $$), and he is 30 years old. That said, bringing him in could help this year and we could free up money with getting off Hubbard next year.

50 sacks over the last 4 years, all double digit efforts. Seeing as the jets just traded a 3 (that can become a 2) for davante, maybe it would only take a 3rd to bring him in.

which is always hard for us to do and I heard they are getting back Nick Chubb which is frightening. I do like our pass rush now
that Hubbard is somewhat healthy and Murphy is starting to show some good stuff.

McKinnley Jackson made some nice stops last night and had 3 pressures and Kris Jenkins always looks pretty good.

BJ Hill was dominant last night.

Don't look now but our weakness may have turned into a strength, we will see.

I thought I mentioned him but I was impressed with Jackson!

He didn't show up big in the numbers but just watching the abilities that he showed and his movements gave me hope that we have a good player if he can keep developing.

Like you said, it could be a strength and that could win us games.

Not bad at all for a rookie going against good O-lineman. Giants may not be a good Offense, but their OL is good.

6 missed tackles Sunday night down from 16 the week before and an AVERAGE of 14 the prior games. Keep working on it guys because sound tackling will instantly cause a big change in fortunes for the defense.

Why do you think their offensive line is good lol? They average 3.9 rush yards per attempt, are 24th in rush yards per game. PFF has them ranked as the 22nd best offensive line unit. ESPN has them as the 17th best for pass rush win rate and 15th best for run block win rate.

While there will always be some level of opinion, I'm not sure how you can say their OL is good. Andrew Thomas is good.

Giants just put up 29 points in Seattle (and won) with the same team they put out there Sunday night.

The DLine was remarkably better. Anyone downplaying that just has a b0n3r for losing.

We gave up 120 yards rushing, before our game, the Giants were averaging 103 ypg on the ground. I don't think many are downplaying the win. Every win matters at this point. I just think at least personally, I'm not going to sit there and watch us struggle against a poor team for 4 hours and leave the game feeling any different about the team going into the game.

We looked like a 2-4 team playing another 2-4 team. Somebody has to win.

They looked sloppy and unorganized at times, the O line was getting manhandled, Burrow nearly had a concussion, Zac's strange play calls again, the Giants showing no respect for the D going for a 1st on nearly every 4th down play and converting most times and QB Jones running at will doesn't inspire lots of confidence to me. Yes, the D played better but it is 1 win and they are still in a deep hole.

giants have a really good defense...our defense looked super...our healthy D linemen playing well have a snowball positive affect on the rest of the defense... lets see what happens with Cleveland..

Eh, the Giants have a pretty good DL, which allows the rest of their very average defensive players to appear better.

Meanwhile teams that have won more games are making moves. This is the teams (and fanbases) lack of all in. Who, outside of Hendrickson, has ever had double digit sacks?

Realize the bengals have 8 sacks on the year, and even last week only had two. Also keep in mind that they were playing one of the worst QBs in the league.

I wouldn't look for the Bengals to be buyers as we near the trade deadline, especially if there is any hope of locking Jamarr Chase up and making any other necessary extensions this offseason.

some moves pan out..others dont..I have been very hard on my critique of the bengals..But what I saw defensively the other night was the difference between night and day..Having healthy defensively linemen makes a world of diffrence and energizes the entire defense....And those rookies as good as they were are only going to get better.....And you simply cannot obliterate your budget and future by acting irresponsibly . I know that you..as we all are frustrated by our current record..but this is a team..even with a hobbled offensive line the past four weeks that can play with any team in the NFL...and I think the remainder of the season will be a great deal of fun..There are no easy teams to beat in the NFL...ON any given Sunday even the supposedly worts teams in the NFL can beat the best

Did you mean to say Defensive line? But yes, good to see the DL getting healthy and happy to be playing together. Let's hope that it wasn't just one game's adrenalin, and that they can keep the momentum going this week. A strong DL makes the units behind them function so much better.
