Interesting little factoids - Yoshi and Burton
#1
Now this is NOT pitting them against each other; it's just interesting looking at the measurables:

Yoshi:

Height 6-3

Weight 205

Arms 32

Hand 8.75

40 time: 4.43

Vertical Jump: 39

Burton:

Height 6-0

Weight 196

Arms 31

Hand 9.84

40 time: 4.45

Vertical Jump: 38.5

It's interesting that in many ways they are physically very similar. Both are fast with Yoshi a touch faster. Both have good arm length and vertical jump. Yoshi is a bit taller and more muscular and Burton has larger hands. Development wise Yoshi is ahead by dint of an extra year of experience and the work he did in the offseason addressing his one weakness, catching with the body too much. The difference has been dramatic. Burton right now needs reps and to improve his route recognition and running. Both should develop into receivers that are mismatches for defenses.

A thread about men's measurables? We definitely need Brad's experience and expertise in that realm for input on this topic. Ninja

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I just thought it interesting the similarities in the physical sense between Yoshi and Burton.

The 40 tests speed but does not show quickness. I may be wrong, but Burton seems faster off the LOS and quicker than Yoshi.

I do agree Burton needs to learn the playbook and develop. If not for Yoshi, I think Bengals would have fast tracked Burton. I do hope and believe Burton is making some plays as we get into weeks 10 and beyond.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

I don't know why everyone is worried about Burton.

It's not like he's counted on because there is no one else.

The average height for an NFL WR is 72.5 inches. Weight is 200 lbs. the average WR is going to have a similar body composition.

Agree, Burton is a lot quicker than Yoshi just from the eye test and it is not even close.

Yoshi is extremely fast for a dude his size though that is for sure.

I like both guys, I haven't seen enough to think they are future Tee replacements at all but yah never know, these guys are talented.

They've had Burton running more verticals and posts so the raw speed shows more. Yoshi's routes so far tend to be crossers so it doesn't flash as much but remember last year they did have him run a couple of posts vs. the Stealers? Had Browning seen him both would have been TDs because he blew right by the coverage - he has the jets like Burton does.
