This is very understandable, and I would agree, IF our oline could move people when the defense is fully expecting a run.  7-8 minutes left in the game and we are facing a full box with Tee and Chase in one-on-one situations.... is simply too early for this squad to lay down and play clock.   Top rated QB & #1 WR duo in the NFL, use them to put a team away with a couple of 1st downs instead of a 3 & out.  Potentially force them out of the heavy box and the runs come a little easier.

Always take a win, but the offense has not looked great in back-to-back weeks, along with Zac's annoying philosophy.

Deep in the pocket? I'm not sure that they even have any 7 step drops in the playbook. But yes, Joe is athletic enough to move around and extend the play. The fault with that is that it cut's the field in half to roll out to one side. You know Zac and not wanting to leave anything to chance..

I wish Zac would just let Burrow go no huddle. I feel like this offense would be so damn good in no huddle. We've seen Burrow against the Titans (I think it was the Divisional round?) where he called all the plays for a TD drive. I just feel like that plays off a strength of Burrow.

Im of the belief that it's a way of not showing your hand to next week's opponent. If you have faith that the defense has the opposing offense figured out, maybe just go on cruise control. Dont show tape

I have no proof of this, but im pretty sure this is the case

I agree, Joe can read the temperature of the game and the defense that he's facing, and would likely do well in a no-huddle offense. However, our beloved coach Zac seems to be a bit of a control freak, and likely won't allow that sort of thing to happen on any regular basis.

They don’t have to run 3 trick plays up by 40 like the Lions did the Cowboys.

A killer instinct is what they are missing and that’s what they need to be working on by not shutting it down with 8 minutes to go in the 4th.

Control freaks don’t pick and choose what to control. Zac gives Joe unprecedented control on gameday. When he was hurt last year he was on the headset. He also gives the offensive coaches unprecedented involvement in the offensive game plan and on game day. He’s completely tailored the offense to what Joe likes.

I'd also point out that they were getting to Burrow by that point in the game, and the last thing we need is him falling on that wrist.......

Casear man I get your frustration. But we got the ball with 8:34 left on our own 3. We had 3rd and 7 from our 16. After running not throwing we bled the clock to 4:50. We had a 2 score plus a 2 point conversion lead. Blame Zac for other times but not this one.

So it's Burrow that's been hobbling the offense in the 4th quarter of recent games? Also, there is nothing "unprecedented" about anything they are doing. Some QBs have been able to make their own calls as far back as the 1980s.

Right, and an interception could have turned that quickly into a 1 score and 2-point conversion in a matter of seconds. I just do not get the criticism.
