Injury updates
Becton. Goedert, and DT Bryce Young are all out on Sunday,

As for Tee and his muscle injuries, sometimes it is just how they are built.

He mentioned right after his return from the hamstring injury that he wanted to do an off-season medical study to figure out why he has so many muscle issues, I believe one of the speed guys for the Bears had a similar study done that determined there was an imbalance in development between the hamstrings and quads. He hasn't had a problem since finding that out and changing things up.

They didn't win and we don't beleive

And I’m right back to leaning towards letting someone else pay Tee. Kid makes Tyler Eifert look like an ironman.

Welcome back to my consistent 3-years-running take. I am fully expecting and prepared to make fun of you Week 14 when Tee has a 80 yard and 2 TD game and you flop back to "we need to pay Tee".   Ninja Ninja Ninja

That’s a big deal. I’ll take whatever breaks we can get.

I resemble that remark.

Love him but it'll be fine. More targets for Geisiki, Yoshi, etc.

Tee missed 2 games, the 1st one was the worst offensive output since Burrow arrived*.

KC game was ok, Chase only had 35 yards, but the TEs saw plenty of action.  "Humming" maybe a stretch....?

*I have no idea if the Patriots game was the worst but it was pathetically ugly.

10/21, WeezyBengal replies to thread that “Slot is Dead”

I think it's time to kind of hit the panic button on our WR3 situation.

I was super high on Yoshi coming into the year, but he's been a dissapointment. Same with Geiski.

Other than Higgins and Chase, we haven't had anyone step up to take control of that WR3 spot. We are getting no production out of the slot and aren't working the middle of the field at all.

YESTERDAY, Weezy says it will be ok, and more targets to Yoshi.. lol… this is like our politicians flip flopping and the general population not paying attention. I seriously had to do a double take here.

Yoshis game log for the two games tee missed, Broken play TDs not withstanding, was horrendous. 10 targets, 5 catches and 34 yards.

Maybe I am missing the sarcasm.

This one is hard for me to assess. Is this not on them because they aren’t getting targeted OR are they not getting targeted because they can’t get open?

Ps. I still love the idea of more TE action even when Tee is on field. I just don’t understand why we don’t use this more. Makes us even harder for D’s to scheme and defend.

let me expand on my post, I never said we are going to find a equal to Tee especially in FA, but i believe we are better off as a whole with a decent FA and beef up defense, in the end Burrow as a top tier QB , he  can win with less on offense so lets beef up defense to give him a better chance.

Cooper Kupp is on the market Big Grin

Can you imagine amazing route running great hands and speed Cooper alongside Jamar? He is injury prone too though.

Not gonna happen - but we can dream.

We'll see if Tee plays. If not we'll likely be in 12 more and you'll see both more TE targets and more Yoshi targets.

Isn’t sounding good for Tee.

I swear if Irwin gets more targets than Burton tomorrow and we lose Cincinnati might riot.

Did you know the bengals have the 4th highest paid defense in 2024, only behind Steelers, GB and Chicago.

that does not tell the whole picture, our top 4 Defense players in salary on dline.. which is the best unit we have on defense but we should be looking at upgrading DB/Safety and LB and look at FA.

If we trade for Kupp, he and Tee might combine for us to have a WR2 available for the rest of the season.  Maybe.

Last one I can remember is LaFell back in 2016-2017, and he was solid for the price.

Prior to LaFell, we go all the way back to...T.O. (and Bryant) in 2010, Coles in 2009, right?

When they have gone the FA route, it's been ok if looking for a competent WR2 aside from Antonio Bryant who never recovered from his knee injury.

I'd be good if they go this route again.
However, they seem to have more success drafting WRs compared to most other positions, so maybe they go WR in Rd 1/2 and use saved FA $$ toward OL/DL, as they have really struggled hitting on guys at those positions.
That would be my guess....draft a WR early and spend on the DL/OL in FA.

They won't do it but I'd call the Giants and see what i'd take to get Slayton.
