McPherson...
#21
He is not as good as his rookie year but still solid top 10 kicker

I noticed this also on the xtra point. The snap was off to Ryan's right. On the missed FG same thing, snap was off again. It's not the holder, it's the snap are not consistent and ruining the timing.

Honestly though, Evan needs to get back to being clutch and he knows it. The Holder and Snapper have to be also considered always though.

As far as I have seen Cal Adomitas is a fine Holder, as we all know Rehkow has things to work on as a Holder but is a damn good Punter.

Once everything gets ironed out I still love this team to win it all more than any other. No team is beating the Chiefs but the Bengals is all I know.

I watch how he boots the ball and he does everything right.

It’s the operation something hasn’t been right since he lost Huber and Harris.

He’s either going to need to change his kicking style or we need to bring in people who he’s comfortable working with.

I agree fully. Perhaps we were lulled into complacency with the long history of efficiency from Harris to Huber. Whatever it is Simmons needs to get these guys together and figure it out.

Money Mac is technically still accurate considering he’s a top 5 paid kicker.

McPherson was  7 for 12 on field goals last year at 50+  This is just a 58% success rate on those long field goals.  Rehkow wasnt the holder so you cant blame holding issues when McPherson was just as bad last year on 50+ yard attempts with Robbins holding.

The reality is McPherson isnt as good as some of our fans try to make him out to be.  I posted this is the pay the McPherson thread a few months ago but some of our fans think he is this top kicker because he has made a couple of clutch kicks but ignore all the ones he misses.

McPherson has not had one single season in the NFL where he has finished top 10 in overall kicking percentage.

2021 he made 84.8% which ranked him at #21 of kickers with at least 10 attempts

2022 he made 82.8% which ranked him at #25 of kickers with at least 10 attempts

2023 he made 83.9% which ranked him at #21 of kickers with at least 10 attempts

The guy has never finished in the top 20 much less top 10 in field goal percentage.  He is not elite and he certainly is not money on his field goal attempts.

If you want to get really technical, Cals snaps have a tendency to drift a bit more towards the holder than they should.

I don’t know if this is new to give the rookie a bit more time to get it down and in position.

If I was coaching I’d tell him to snap it straighter and tell Mac to curve his run and start half a step further back not only gives the holder a bit more time to get it down but would help Mac line it up incase of any problems.

Only trouble with that is that you give the defence a split second longer to try block it.

That could be the most boring thing I’ve ever typed LOL

Exactly, anytime the holder has to turn his body to get the snap, timing is thrown off.

You could stretch it to 20 attempts but it still wouldnt change much.  You need to set a limit somewhere.  You cant go to 30 attempts because McPherson wouldnt qualify for all 3 seasons.  Anyway you look at it, McPherson has not come close to being top 10 in any NFL season he has played.

Kickers with 70 or more field goal atts since '21.

26 kickers apply.

Not so money Mac ranks 20th.

19/19

The most attempts without a miss since he was drafted.

Super money Mac.

It seems like mixed results, after speaking to two of them about it.

One, they like that it's moving to the airport and that road will get a lot of bars. Two, it takes away from the downtown atmosphere (8 times a year?). Three, Haslam has a ton of money and 1 billion of the move will be costing us tax payers (of which a Bengals fan would rather not partake).

I think the cost of the stadium is apparently the 2nd most expensive building created in the world (?) and for one of the worst franchises in all of sports. Those are words from Browns fans.
