Palmer was and that's how that ended. Anyone else who voices displeasure in Cincy is out or not signed to deals they want. Think they like it that way.

Burrow and Lamar were probably the 2 best QB’s in the league coming into this week. This team has A LOT of problems, but the QB isn’t one of them.

We can win with Burrow. Is he still a dominant force? A threat teams fear playing against? A powerhouse in the league?
No. And we are coming to terms with it. But he’s been injured a ton and they were always going to take a toll. He can no longer will a team to a win but he isn’t the problem with the team. And I’d still take this Burrow if this is what we get for a healthy 5-10 more years Quote:"Success doesn’t mean every single move they make is good" ~ Anonymous

He’s definitely not 100% and may never be again. That wrist injury is a killer. He can’t spin the ball like he used to and lost velocity. Plus he’s beat down physically & mentally. They ruined him as I knew they would.

In my opinion (I've been up since 2:30am due to my job and I took a melatonin and drank 2 Genesee Cream Ales FYI) he's a typical example of a dude who inherits a business and then coasts for the rest of his life. Granted, there are organizations like the Panthers or the Snyder-era DC squad who are the opposite but make things worse. The way I see it, firing coaches who are under contract and making trades etc all fall under "not mandatory" so why would he bother? Why didn't we trade Tee? Because we didn't have to. Why do anything?

I can’t believe how anybody would have anything to say about Joe. He is the only QB in the top 10 in all major categories. He pretty much has to be perfect for us to win games most of the time & the bad part is some fans expect him to be. Name another QB in the league that has to do what he does with absolutely no run game. Not Pat, Lamar, Hurts, & I could go on. I can’t believe he does what he does & plays as great as he does. Some is this stuff is ridiculous!

Burrow is a better QB than Dalton but Dalton had 23% of his games with Bengals had come from behind 4th quarter drives/game winners . That is not why we lost today but I would think he would be better in leading us to wins in the 4th for sure.. (10-27-2024, 08:14 PM)jj22 Wrote: We can win with Burrow. Is he still a dominant force? It just kind of feels like we are getting too close to the Palmer era circa 2009 or so where it's clear that we had the potential to win it all but we're sort of fiddling while Rome is burning. Burrow can still win it all, but the issue is that this situation is even remotely relatable to the last #1 overall pick QB we took that has people clutching the proverbial pearls. By my worthless opinion, this franchise didn't do terribly right by Palmer, Dalton, or Burrow. If Burrow voices issues with this, let's just say the Bengals may not get the benefit of the doubt yet again this time in what I see as "strike three." Palmer was a "quitter crybaby" and Dalton was an "over-achieving mid-tier dude" but I think Burrow going down the same not so pleasant path turns the narrative on all 3 in the eyes of many. Or maybe we just go on a 10+ game winning streak and all is well.

Fans are so uninformed about Palmer, he wanted this organization to have a single goal; try to contend every year. He wanted better facilities to attract free agents and to pay free agents.

Coaching on both sides of the ball is the issue. FO would do right by Burrow by pulling the plug after this season rather than let it continue on further.
We won't know the extent of Burrow wrist injury for a long time but for the most part he's looked like a top 10 QB.

EDIT - Also to further quote Gorilla Monsoon for no reason, you can cut the electricity in here with a knife!

Joe is fine but maybe trying to shoulder too much of the load himself. Really Bengals have no run game at all that would help to alleviate some pressure from Joe;s passing game. When the Eagles get in 3rd and short its an automatic 1st down with just a QB sneak, yet when the Bengals get to 3rd and short the rushing attack usually fails. So frustrating

Bottom line is the Bengals franchise does not know or care to provide a winner. How long will it be before Burrow begs out? The pundits were right.

Dalton had some pretty good receivers. He had solid TEs. He had a running game from time to time. He had a capable pass blocking back. He had OCs that put him in the best possible position to be successful... And those defenses. How many of those things does Joe Burrow have at the moment?
