If I’m Jamarr Chase I’m not resigning if Tee is gone

Correction.  "OTHER" teams find a way to get around the salary cap all the time......  Why not the Bengals??  That's the million dollar question.....  If "only."  We were SO CLOSE...  I feel this window has closed.  Not to say we can't open it again, but this defense just has too many holes up front.

My point of saying those other players was because of the comment that the coach for the championship years is the same as now.
However, the players are not, and that's a big reason why the team is underperforming now compared to 2 years ago.

The team would have enough $$ to have Bates and Reader both if:
A) Let Higgins and Hill walk and allocate that ~$25-35 mill APY to another position, and...
B) Not having Rankins and/or Stone on the roster next year, freeing up $6.5 mill for Stone and $10.5 mill for Rankins

They could also do what more and more teams are doing in voided extra years to lower the cap in the short term. Yes, there are detriments that it results in dead money spent in future years down the road, but certain teams always find a way to keep pushing further and further without hitting a wall.

I will not speak for all fans, but this fan personally doesn't care about the future financial implications pushing contracts into future years to field a better team now, knowing there's a risk the team could be terrible for 3-5 years after an "all-in" window.
I just want to see a Super Bowl victory, even if it means a few seasons of really down years. It's better than riding the middle-of-the-pack for a decade. I know it might not be better financially for the Bengals ownership, but I'm not them.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

THIS is why you get guys as good as Chase extended ASAP.

It is a real possibility Chase doesn’t even wanna come back now

I don’t think Iv ever seen a NFL close its own championship window so badly

It’s like they got that taste of winning in 2021 and said “welp that’s enough of that”

If we really thought the fix to losing guys with Reader, Tee and Bates is drafting guys with mid level picks then idk what to say cause that means we’re idiots

You are nuts Housh. Ja'Marr will not be as productive anywhere else as he will with Burrow and we will pay Ja'Marr what he wants
and he will be the highest paid WR in the NFL. Just another knee jerk emotional response on this board, you are ruining this place.

Idk people probably thought that about Tyreek but he’s had his 2 best seasons without Mahomes.

But I agree, Chase isn’t going anywhere. Not even this franchise would be that stupid.

I mean, has everyone forgotten 2 AFCN Championship games and one AFC Championship, 1 Super Bowl and 2 Division titles in the last 5 years? Going from 0-7 in the playoffs with Marvin to going 5-2 in the playoffs with this staff? Yeah, all die. I mean, seriously, if people want to jump ship just do it already. Don't stand on the plank complaining about the water temperature.

I'd be astounded if the Bengals don't re-sign Chase. Mikey loves him a WR and I imagine will chuck the bag at him. Ja'Marr knows for certain that he will be effective with his buddy Joe and so will continue to lay down very highly impressive statistical performances.

For all of our struggles and for all this 'once Higgins goes, Chase gets triple covered to oblivion'... Tee has missed 3 games right? We've had at least 3 games of poor offensive performance. And yet who is the NFL leader in receiving yards? Ja'Marr Chase.

He'll want to win a ring someday I'm sure, but these guys play for multiple reasons. He's a phenomenal WR, but it doesn't always work out elsewhere under a new QB/scheme/coach etc. With Burrow and the Bengals, Chase will get the bag and and very likely continue to be a top WR in the league. Builds a HOF argument etc etc. Can say what we want about the Bengals being a franchise of failure, but we are at least a known quantity for Ja'Marr and that known quantity will keep him as one of the best in the league if he stays.

Always. They just didn't have the options they do now in the past. Free Agency and Salary Caps have only existed for ~30 years.

Chase stays if they offer him the money he wants. I doubt that he cares about Tee being here or not.

In general, we as fans care about wins and losses a lot. I'm not sure that the players agonize over losses. Sure they want to win, but I don't know how big that is on their list.

Modern free agency started around 1992. Look how bad the Bengals have been in since that date.

Nothing personal. I didn't even note or cared who created it.

Look at the front page and tell me how many are variants of "Zac Sucks" threads there are. Often posts with an original thought gets pushed to the back pages, because every one must start his/her own thread about the same thing.

Our wins without Tee air when Tee leaves games is horrendous

I wish i had that star available but iv heard them on multiple podcasts now. Chase stars go down and we barely win without Tee

This was part why i made this thread cause it was so surprising our wins and chases stats went down so much

Idk if you’ve ever been on a sports team but if im Chase idc about the 35M per we could offer over a team that’ll offer 30 per with a better coach and a better run game that could keep doubles and TRIPLES off me.

The fact that so many ppl think this is crazy and the money will blind Chase is a bit wild to me. He could go to the Texans and have a great QB, make money and almost be guaranteed he won’t get doubled as much as he is here.

I’m just saying

If i get these stats/win totals I’ll post them to bolster the thread

Cut and paste Chase RIGHT now to the Ravens and he’s breaking all types of WR records

I have no idea why ppl think this isn’t a conversation. Zac Taylor is ass and Mike already showed Chase he’ll toy with him

I mean, nobody other than Burrow is truly untouchable, but I don’t trust their drafting so I would never trade Chase for a bunch of picks they will just **** up anyway. It would have to be a blockbuster trade involving another superstar player. It’s not really worth speculating on though it’s not going to happen.

The previous 3 years when Burrow played (>50% snaps) and Tee didn't (<50% snaps)....

W, 34-11
W, 41-10
L, 20-23
L, 17-19
W, 23-10
W, 34-20

That's 4-2. That's an 11 win pace.

- - -

Ja'Marr Chase in those games....
4-65-2
6-77-0
10-129-1
7-50-0
10-119-1
15-192-3

That's 52-632-7.... averaged for 17 games that's a 147 catches for 1,791 yards/20 TD season.

thats the difference between Boyd and Yoshi. But also its a little more than that. The defenses were better, and McPherson was still good

Well Tyreek went to that Fins Offense when Tua was somewhat healthy and McDaniel was tearing it up with his motion, he fit like a glove.

I know some laugh off the fact that Joe and Ja'Marr have great chemistry, but it is a real thing. I doubt Ja'Marr could go somewhere else
and be as good as he has been and will be here. Ja'Marr's greatness is just starting in my opinion, so it is time to pay the man. If we can
get a running game and an okay Defense not all is lost around here even if Zac is still around. Even if I would rather move on from all of
these coaches, I just think Zac stays regardless, just hope he gets an OC that understands a good running game is essential.

Erick All has been praised by Chase and is a fantastic blocker already and we already saw that long TD where the TE's in All and Sample
were on the edge and blocked a crease for the long Chase TD. I like Tee, but he is hurt again no surprise, we will survive without him.

And WR's are easier to Draft and have immediate production than most other positions.

Of all the Offense's to pick you pick the Ravens who are a running Offense that use the TE's and have ran off their own WR's cuz they don't
throw the ball enough to the WR's lol

I see the wit here its reallly stupid.

Philly doesn’t regret firing Peterson at all, and that says a lot given how buffoonish Sirianni is at times.
