Lance McAlister - Burrow showing resignation

Mike said he would agree to the extension, then when whit went to the blackburns, they told whit that they personally dont want him. Which is something that shouldnt be said. It comes off as slight undermining, and its burning a bridge and fracturing a relationship with whit

At the time, Whit was pretty up there in age and it was fairly unprecedented for tackles to remain elite at that age.

He did. And I think 1 or 2 others have since.

Hindsight, right?

The move they made in letting him go was fairly logical...they just failed at drafting his replacement. Then, he ended up playing great. Sucks.

Their failure was more so in the draft side though.

He had some playoff games during that stretch where he put up monster numbers but still lost. The Blake Bortles game against JAX comes to mind.

Burrow isn't a HC or an OC. Players still need to do things they might not prefer doing because it's necessary for the team to succeed.

WRs don't prefer to run block, but they need to if you want to be able to break large runs with any consistency. RBs might not prefer to pass block, but they need to if you want to be able to effectively pick up blitzes. Burrow might not prefer to play under center, but he needs to if we want to have an effective play action pass and run game, while keeping defenses guessing more so they can't play quite as aggressively with even an eight of a second more of hesitation.

They were down 28-14 at half in that game because he threw a pick and also fumbled (that got returned for a TD). With 5 minutes left in the game they were still down 14.

A bit like the Lamar playoff game where "he had 500 yards of offense, it's not his fault he can't win in the postseason!" but was hot trash for most of the game (2 picks, a fumble lost, and he got stuffed twice on 4th and 1) and just racked up some big time garbage time yards.

Jerry Jones would acquire Chase just for his disdain of the bengals org and prove a point.
