Guess other teams never got the memo that Carman was and is absolutely terrible on the right side of the line.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Carman is everybody's favorite whipping boy, as he was a major disappointment here and seemingly elsewhere. People act like the coaches were daft for drafting him. Here's my take on him... I don't think he has the desire to do what it takes to succeed in this league, as he has interests in other areas like music. That said..... The NFL coaching community has done this kid no favors. He came into the league knowing how to play one position, left tackle. He played Left Tackle well enough at Clemson to get Sunshine and Co the National Title. So he gets drafted and the coaches want him to play every position BUT left tackle. He's obviously not talented enough to transition to the right side of the line and is not mean enough to play guard. But, when he got his chance to play Left Tackle, he wasn't horrible. He's not the best player by any stretch, but I think our coaches and elsewhere kind of screwed him by playing him out of position.

I don't disagree he's bad on the right side and at guard. He did OK at LT.... not that I'd want him as a starter. Just trying to be fair to the guy

Nice. I like Mims better than all these Tackles as well. Latham didn't look good at all going against Trey. I wanted Fuaga or Fashanu and
would of liked Rosengarden in the 2nd round. Alt was never a possibility, not really surprised he played this good as a rookie, dude was
very polished in his film and had much more experience and many more snaps than Mims. I like Mims upside even over Alt though.
Guyton surprised me in a good way, I thought he would be a bad pro. Saw a lot of inconsistency in his tape.

Mims need to progress and stay healthy. He is very young and seems motivated to stay on the field.
Did injuries impact his pressure rate? Most likely, a little, but he needs to clean up techniques as well. I think he has tremendous upside.
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

I woild have to disagree on ALT, he is already showing his upside, playing all 16 games and was dominate rookie tackle of the nfl by a good distance,

That's what he said. Alt is closer to a finished product than Mims... And yeah. Alt's really good.

but I actually like Alt upside now and long term better than Mims,, nothing against Mims i supported the pick (especially the non existent idea that he was often hurt in college) and happy with his performance, but what Alt showed as a rookie reinforced the separation of his draft selection and others.

Yeah. He was the consensus best OT prospect, and he backed it up. I'd say Mims acquitted himself nicely too given his lack of experience, the poor play to his left, and the fact he was coached by a guy who wasn't retained. He has all the tools to be a very good lineman in this league. For the first time in 3 years, we made the right pick.

And he gutted out some games while injured. All we need are four more who are just as driven as he is.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Orlando literally played with a broken fibula. Can’t question the heart of either tackles.

Yeah, he's a gamer. Hard to imagine that someone proposed cutting him to gain some cap space...

Playing with a torn pec and a club on your hand can mess with your play no doubt.

You aren't disagreeing with me. Alt was great as a rookie as most of us all thought he would be. He was the most pro ready Tackle in the
Draft. I just like Mims upside more because of his size, strength and balance that cannot be taught.
If you disagree with that, fine.

Yes sir.

Alt was more pro ready no question, but upside has to do with raw talent. Mims has the size, athleticism, balance that cannot be taught.
That is why I like Mims upside over Alt's. Alt has fantastic technique though and will probably be an All Pro his entire career.
Mims could be our best Right Tackle since Willie Anderson though. High praise I know.

Well said Jason, Cappa and Pollack did Mims no favors and he still as you say acquitted himself nicely. The tools Mims has are rare and
he is also very smart something you cannot say enough about a young OL.

Spot on... the man is going to be a monster RT for us. With him and Zeus in place, and Ford and Cochran in the wings as backups, who both played well when called upon, we can just focus on guards this year.
