We can win out

Mobile QB's give us most trouble we don't face anyone elite over last 7 games we win out 98 percent chance we make the playoffs.

Mobility from Lamar had nothing to do with this loss.

We have maybe the worst defense in the NFL. That's our major issue.

On offense, having Cody Ford protect the blindside...having practice squad WR's outside of Chase and Higgins, and having #3 RB's on most teams starting...is a lot to overcome.

I don't think we can beat the Steelers. Their defense is going to tee off on our line.

OBJ should be healthy by then. Lamar broke some runs Lamarr isn't as nightmare of a matchup as Jaden Daniels or Jaylen Hurtz.   A QB making plays with his legs is directly responsible for all 6 losses this season.

Man you are setting yourself up for disappointment…

The Bengals 4 wins this year have come against teams who are tied with NE, NO and JAX for the worst record in football. Right now they are all 2-7 and would be picking in the top 7.
Also, they lost to NE who would have the top pick.

This is an awful football team until they prove otherwise.
In other words the more things change the more they stay the same.
Sad for Burrow, Chase and Hendrickson.

Making the playoffs is the goal, but not like they would end up being as 1 and done would be viewed as a failure and a bad mark to Burrow playoff record, and 1 and done is likely if they do make it.

So does making it and going 1 and done change any perceptions of the season? Honest question.

Be lucky to have a winning record for the balance of the year. Let it go.

Also we have yet to beat a team with more than 2 wins...

And we play:

@ Chargers
Steelers twice
@ Dallas
@ Tenn
Cleveland
Denver

On paper, all of those games are winnable.

That said, we've proven that we find ways to lose and the defense looks terrible.

We most likely win 3 or less times.

Yeah, they beat teams with losing records, but they also played the Chiefs and the Ravens twice in very tight games, and for two of those, we didn't even have any DT's. Losses are losses, but you can't say they can't compete with winning teams.

Even getting in as a 7 seed nobody in the AFC would want too face us. D held most explosive offense in NFL to 7 points in the first half. I think I seen you have to go back 2022 last time that happened. We lost by a point to the Chiefs in their building we steamrolled Bills in their building no reason we cant do it again. 4-6 and running the table isn't impossible

You can't be serious.

Lamar (and really every athletic QB we have faced) gave us fits outside of structure all night long. We couldn't tackle him when we got pressure. His athleticism killed us.

Here is where I am at, and how the bengals make this work.

1) You have to beat chargers, currently a playoff team and tie breakers will matter. Need momentum going into the bye.

2) They then have two sets of 3 games. The must got 2-1 or better in each mini series, with some key must wins.

- Split, or sweep Steelers. Can’t lose both.
- beat broncos (another team with playoff aspirations, tiebreakers matter).
- unless they win out, the best game to drop would be cowboys.

I expect 9-8 will get you in (when the dust settles), if you beat chargers, broncos and Steelers 2x

I'd love to make the playoffs and see if Burrow has any magic. Weather gets colder and perhaps a Lamar, Allen, and Mahomes will struggle in a shoot out.

That said this appears to be another lost season. We really need high draft picks or a great free agency to turn this defense around. I'm at the point where the only thing I don't want to see happen which happened last season is Bengals missing the playoffs by 1 game.

I expected there to be no way 9-8 gets us in, but actually the Chargers and Broncos have some tough games coming up. Did a very optimistic predictor and 9-8 as a potential path in didn't look ridiculous to me.

I think the ridiculous part of it was expecting the Bengals to win games. But you are right I think, if by any chance we can play some defence and beat the Chargers and Broncos, 9-8 could do it.

I think it will take 10 wins, meaning we have to win 6 of the last 7. If Higgins ever gets back on the field, I think it's doable.

I think more likely yes, but I was surprised that 9-8 could also be enough without a string of crazy results.

There isn't a game left that I'd be surprised if we win. I think the problem will be winning consistently, and winning 6 of 7 with this defence.

I'm not sure how you can have just watched those two Ravens games and this is your takeaway lol

This is a gut wrenching loss I get it. Tre is best pass rusher in the league, Joe and Chase might be enough OBJ and Tee return Joe keeps getting better not giving up.

Sure is a lot easier to reach 10 wins if you don't forfeit the first two weeks due to being unprepared to start the season.
