They also play the Titans. I’d put that in the winnable category.

It’s definitely not. The Cowboys have typically had the Bengals number, and Cooper Rush beat them when their defense was actually decent.

14 points away from being 8-2. But yeah. we ain't making the playoffs.

Patriots - Only lost by six but was a honest L
Chiefs - had it in the bag and then blew it - lost by 1
Commanders - competitive - lost by 5
Ravens 1 - had it in the bag and then blew it - lost by 3
Eagles - destroyed us - Honest L
Ravens 2 - It was there for the taking but bungled again - lost by 1

SO, 10 points and then you need to add 4 more for the W.

Based on last three years, 9-8 to 10-7 is the minimum record to get in playoffs. If Bengals want in, they can only lose one to two games at most. Beating the Chargers will be huge in getting into the playoffs too, as they are 6th in AFC playoff race. If they lose, they pretty much will have to run the table. Maybe next year they will go into the season actually prepared and ready to play at a high level.

Last year 10-7 was minimum record to make playoffs with two teams at that record.
In 2022, 9-8 was minimum with two teams making playoffs, and the third 9-8 team left out (Pitt)
In 2021, 9-7-1 was minimum (Pitt) to make playoffs. Three 9-8 teams were left out.

I have zero problem with the Chiefs. Classy, well run, FAMILY team, showing us it CAN BE DONE.
Yes a rival, and I love it when we beat them, and want them to lose if it helps us. But I don’t take pleasure in them losing per se. Not like I do with the Steelers. I want the Steelers to lose even if a W by them helps us.

I hate them that much.

Watched the Chargers game today and honestly don’t think they were anything special. I fancy us to win next week if we can keep the offence rolling then see if anything improves after the bye.

I'm of the same school of thought: we only drop one more game the rest of the way and it is one of the Stooler games.

I did watch the entire game yesterday as well and if, only IF the offense plays like it has, I see no issues: they just don't have the firepower on offense to keep up with us.

Now, they do have a good dline, but if we can neutralise it, then I like our chances as well.

We will be the healthiest since the Gigants game on Sunday, so that will help as well.

Chargers have a very good defense, lead the NFL in least points allowed, 6th in yards allowed, and on offense they don;t turnover the ball, lead the NFL with only 4 turnovers, Herbert has played hurt all year but only had 1 int and a solid QB rating with a inexperienced WR core ,  hopefully our defense can get off the field since Chargers like to control the ball on offense... and we can score enough points to win a must game.

That's the key

Perhaps ZT has finally learned that lesson.

We should have Orlando Brown back which is huge and yes be the healthiest we have been in a while. The Chargers haven't played very good
Offenses and right now Burrow and Chase are playing crazy good and are pissed off. We are getting better at slowing down RB's, Henry only had
68 yards and our young DT's are getting better. Ossai actually has a bit of a pass rush besides Trey which is a good sign.

It will have to start Sunday night if we want to make a run at the Playoffs.

Zac Taylor prepares his team to start the season about as well as you type. LOL

No matter how much you’d love to pin the slow starts on Burrow he has nothing to do with the defense missing 13 tackles against an awful Patriots offense. They made Rhamondre Stevenson look like Barry Sanders.

Exactly

In ZT's 6 seasons his grand total of combined wins in the first 3 games of all those seasons is 4

4-13-1 And the team has looked flat, unprepared, and lost in most of those losses, and it hasn't been just Burrow.

Which is exactly how Marvin's teams looked for any game not played in the regular season at 1PM, and just about any game coming off a bye

You just assume I mean Burrow only , that would be wrong... other of what we would consider our top players have not performed well either....  ZT should take blame also.. but to actually think that players don;t have an impact in their own ability to be ready for game 1 is perplexing...
