I, for one, am glad the Bengals don't do guaranteed contracts...

Because we are about to cut half this damn roster in the off-season...

Cap space is on the menu, boys.

With the exception of Ja'Marr Chase I agree. Should of gave him his guarantees as he will cost way more now. Get rid of Geno Stone, Rankins,
Hubbard, Vonn, Cappa and let Tee go. I don't know about half the damn roster, need to extend Trey and even BJ to keep a pass rush and have
some stability on the DL.

Half the damn roster is generous. They need to cut some coaches too ....and get some damn scouts FFS.

Talk about screwing the pooch in free agency! Rankins and Stone are swings and misses. Gieseke (spelling?) has been alright, but the others have been awful
.
On one of Herbert's early long run plays you can see Pratt trying to wave that zones defender over, but it was too late!

The FO will do nothing out of the ordinary; which is nothing, this offseason.

Yeah, I saw him blowing up the secondary on the sideline after that series.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Speaking of Gesicki wtf was that game plan last night? It’s like as soon as Tee comes back they completely forget about him.

Yep.

They had to keep forcing balls to Burton...who should have had more catches. He made some awkward attempts. I don't know what his deal is. Didn't seem to have that fight to get the ball. Mis-timed some. The deep throw seemed catchable. A really fast guy would have hit that extra gear and caught it and scored. He didn't seem to be running that fast and made an awkward attempt at catching it.

I dont feel our corners are terrible the S play is so awful it's making everyone on the D look worse. Bell awful Stone worse than Bell Battle the best of the bunch he couldn't start for many more teams other than Bengals. I dont see this as fixable because we dont value the S position.

Burton has turned into the 2nd coming of John Ross, worthless.

he really is awful. I dont think his brain can be fixed. Duke and the front office make all the wrong decisions

Every draft choice next year, needs to be selected with the plan that they are starting. If not, don’t draft them. This team does need 2nd stringers or bench warmers, they need starters.

Zac acted like a kid on Christmas when they drafted Burton. He takes part of the blame for that one.

He looks like a kid that doesn’t want to get hit, just like John Ross. Avoiding contact

They need to start drafting players who have been productive instead of drafting from just a handful of schools.

Yep

Without wholesale change in the roster we're toast for next season.

I definitely see a purge on the horizon.

After yesterday's debacle and with consideration to the overall record, it's probably time to start giving the young guys more snaps. They need to see if there's anything to be salvaged in terms of personnel before the season ends. I want to see more of Newton, Murphy, Battle, Jenkins (who's already playing quite a bit), and Jackson. Wouldn't mind seeing Matt Lee get worked in, either. That one's riskier because you don't want Burrow to get killed, but he kind of already is.

Wouldn't mind seeing Ford at guard if Brown gets back, either. The interior is absolutely putrid. It would be hard to do worse than Cappa and Volson right now.

I agree about Burton. He looked off for lack of a better term. Not that he was ever on, but he isn't in lock-step with JB like Tee and Chase are. Even Chase Brown has better chemistry with Joe than Burton has.

I meant to quote Nico as well, but anyhow, he's spot on about them not using MG last night. Yes, they needed help blocking the pass rush, but he's not really a blocker to begin with.

Besides the PR was coming straight through the G and C for most of the night. Mims had a learning experience last night as well. MG is a short route specialist. In other words a QBs best friend when he only gets 1.5 seconds to get rid of the ball. Should have been targeted more imho.

Now that the season is pretty much over I’d start Lee at center and see what they have there. Move Karras to LG and get Volson the hell off the field before he gets Burrow killed.

Absolutely. He visibly seemed more excited making the call to Burton than other picks.
