Mathematically, yes, we do.  Realistically, no, we don't.

But, I'd never tell you not to post such a sentiment.  Draft talk in November is just too damn depressing.

You have a bigger chance of ________________________ than the bengals going 10 - 7.

Burrow will be lucky not to take 15 hits in each game with this line.

Other desperate teams are pointing to their schedule and claiming they have a chance to win out if facing the Bengals. We are the easy schedule. Remember thinking the Steelers and Broncos were "wins"? Titans will be motivated and Cali knows Lou's scheme. Browns are a mess but we are looking at likely 1 more win. Time to pack it up. Players realized that last night if you paid attention to them leaving the field and the meltdown after the game by multiple players.

This season is over. Players made it clear last night with openly turning on the coaching staff and each other. Zac has lost the team and players are in full abandon ship mode.

They’re not even going to win their next game. Hopefully these nonsensical posts stop after that.

This is not the playoff team you're looking for.

I'd put our chances of winning out at 0.000000000000001%

I'm just hoping for no major injuries from here on out.

Crunching the numbers over here fellas, and I am 99% sure I am correct here…. So if we win out, which includes dubs over the Broncos and Colts… and the Colts beat the Broncos…and all the three teams win out outside of those games against each other..... we all end up 10-7. ? And in a three team tie breaker... in that scenario, we win the tie breaker.

So with that, if every team is 10-6 going into the last game of the season, it comes down to the following.

(1) Broncos vs. Chiefs

(2) Colts vs. Jaguars

(3) Bengals vs. Steelers

In this scenario... if all the teams win and are 10-7... the Bengals win the tie breaker, because the first tie breaker, is head to head records vs. the tied opponents. See list and link below.

PS - The Dolphins schedule looks super hard as well to note, so mark them out. Pats, Packers (in Lambeau), Jets, 49ers, Texans, etc.

So does our entire season come down to hypothetically.. us needing Anthony Richardson (or Flacco... revenge game?), to beat the Broncos in Denver on 12/15?

Conference Tie Breakers: (https://www.nfl.com/standings/tie-breaking-procedures)

Tiebreaker Procedure for Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after one or more clubs are eliminated in any step, the tiebreaker process restarts at Step 1 of the two-club format. If three clubs remain tied after a fourth club is eliminated, the tiebreaker process restarts at Step 1 of the three-club format.)

(1) Head-to-head record (best won-lost-tied percentage in games played among the tied clubs).
(2) Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
(3) Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
(4) Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
(5) Strength of victory in all games.
(6) Strength of schedule in all games.
(7) Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
(8) Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
(9) Best net points in common games.
(10) Best net points in all games.
(11) Best net touchdowns in all games.
(12) Coin toss (if all other tiebreakers fail).

In two weeks give us your optimism that the Bengals can make the playoffs still at 9-8 after losing to the Steelers....  Smirk

I'll believe we have a chance until we're mathematically eliminated.

It helps keep part of my love for the team and the game alive.

I was just typing to a person about that tonight but my biggest roadblock was how we'd need to beat the Steelers twice.

Well if he thinks we can beat them twice then he most likely thinks we can beat them once

MC, while I like your enthusiasm, the stark reality is, things are not going to bounce our way this year. The year we went to Superbowl, the close losses we have this year were wins. The ball bounced our way on a fumble.....back then, he was still Money Mac, and made the FG to win it. The other team missed the FG or threw in interception. Sorry man...it's not gonna happen. There are 6 games left....I doubt we win more than 2 the rest of the way. Maybe next year......(tape starts skipping here)

I am a real fan.

And I just watched Joe Burrow torch a team and almost make an insane comeback, again.

Yes it's depressing.

But its also insane to think we can't beat Russell Wilson twice, Cooper Rush, Will Levis, Anthony Richardson, Jameis Winston, and Bo Nix.

Fig Newton looked like a DOG.

Jenkins looked like a beast.

The defense was making some stops.... and we are about to now have Tee fully loaded and ready to go after a big performance, our best offensive lineman back, Charlie Jones back, Rankins, etc.

How can we not have optimism?

Look at our offense and these remaining teams we are playing,. We got this.

You can't get in the way of posters self-wallowing despair, that's what seems to make this board work. Yes, we COULD win out, but with the way injuries have mounted this season, and now losing yet another corner in DJ Turner, I don't really see it. Something has happened to CTB and he is not playing well. We lost Hill and Turner. I'll still watch and cheer on my team though. I was really looking forward to watching when Lou benched CTB and started putting the speedsters in, the defense really picked it up.

You can be a real fan and be a real-IST at the same time.

Just because someone believes the evidence in front of them that this team is going nowhere doesn't disqualify them from being a real fan.
