Bengals Win Out + Colts Beat the Broncos... We are all potentially 10-7, AND WE IN?

Miami now has a better record too as they will be 5-6 in a minute.

Still think Denver gets that final WC spot, but Miami might make it close and will likely finish above us.

What could have been....

Gotta hope Broncos, Colts, Miami have some fails and that Cincy can, you know, win 5-6 games.

Remaining schedules:

Miami: @Packers, Jets, @Texans, 49ers, @Browns, @Jets

Denver: Browns, Colts, @Chargers, @Bengals, Chiefs

Colts: @Patriots, @Broncos, Titans, @Giants, Jags

meh, still the slightest slimmer of hope for other teams failures. Colts have it the easiest but they are mid, capable of laying eggs to any of those teams.

Lose to Pitt and it's over. Although, playoffs or not, as a fan I would love nothing more than for Cincy to beat Pitt a couple times and spoil their dreams. Screw them

Where are those people, who said we can run the table and make the playoffs.

Tennessee beats Houston
Dallas beats Washington

Plus we play Pittsburgh twice, and we rarely win both games.

They both have done something we haven’t, beat a winning team.

I dunno... Honestly when I step back and look at it this isn't a very good team. They weren't a good team last year either. We can blame it on injuries, and preseason routines, and run games, and play calls all we want. It's a poorly constructed roster with a middle of the road coaching staff, a piss poor front office, and a bad owner. They catch lighting in a bottle once a decade and get out hopes up for a few years, but we always end up back in the same place.

I don't think we have a chance in hell to go on a run and make the playoffs, and I'm not optimistic about next year either.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

I get that sentiment, though.  I'd love for us to go on an eight game winning streak right about now and make it to the AFCCG after being left for dead by the side of the road.  Hell, why not win it all since I'm dreaming?  But, realistically, I don't really believe that will happen.  We might win two or three and finish sub .500.  I just hope we can finish the season above Cleveland and beat them once more.

his career that you keep referencing. Orlando should be back at LT after the bye and the OL should be better.

This is where I trust PFF going through game snaps compared to what I happen to see or don't see watching a game live on TV.

Cody Ford has 24 total pressures allowed on just 218 pass block snaps.
Only 1 sack, but the 24 total pressures is a crazy high amount.
A full NFL season will have triple those pass block snaps, so Cody Ford is on pace for 70+ if playing a full season.

If you are just referring to sacks allowed, I get it, but total pressures has to be considered.

Let's compare Ford to OBJ, who has allowed just 8 total pressures (but 2 of them sacks) on 276 pass block snaps.

I guess what is your definition of liability?
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Don't look now, but the Dolphins are right back in the thick of things for that last WC spot.

Bengals need the Dolphins to go no better than 9-8 and one of those losses has to come from an AFC team if they want to have a chance to get in at 9-8.
Dolphins have NYJx2, HOU, GB, SF, and CLE.

Bengals now have to compete against IND, MIA, and DEN for the WC...I don't like the chances of that.

Indy looked like crap in what of the Detroit game I watched (about 1 quarter at a restaurant). I haven't watched a Denver game yet this year.

Indy has a very easy schedule.
NE
DEN
TEN
NYG
JAX

Could be 4 wins right there, potentially a sweep if they can beat DEN.

Liability is getting completely owned and allowing the Sacks as well as the pressures would be my definition. I expected Ford to be much
worse than he has been. What did you expect of him from what he has shown in his career? You have talked me out of moving Ford to RG
once Olrando is back, but I was for cutting Ford before this, I am not now.

Just a matter of time before Tua gets another concussion and they just are not the same without Tua. That was an awesome fake by him
yesterday on that one motion that went for a TD. If Tua stays healthy, yes, they worry me if we are going to go on a run we could fall short
if we don't win out.

Broncos are good. Bo Nix still doesn't impress me but they have a really good WR in Sutton, a good running game and their Defense is damn good.

The Broncos might be the toughest game on our schedule besides playing the stealers twice.

Colts won't beat the Broncos. But yeah, the rest of that schedule is cake.

I guess what is your definition of 4th tackle on the depth chart? He's only playing because T. Brown is out for the year and OBJ is injured.

This is exactly what I expected of him.
Frankly, I thought if he had any chance to succeed, it was going to be on the right side, as his biggest weakness was pass protection.
Him allowing 24 total pressures on such few snaps at LT is about what I expected from him.

I wouldn't cut him during this season as the team needs a body and likely is out of the running for postseason anyway, but he's not someone I would care to re-sign this coming offseason.

You and I are actually in agreement, I think.

This is what I would expect an emergency 4th tackle to perform, which is well below average.

The reason I was chiming in so much on Ford was because of the proposal to try to find another starting spot for him once OBJ was back.
He's not good enough to get a starting spot once OBJ is back, even over Volson and Cappa.

If I was to do anything, I'd look to try to either see if Matt Lee could be ok playing one of the OG spots or shift Karras to LG, bench Volson, and have Lee cover C.

Scary thought if he would be any worse.

Through the first 6 weeks of the season, he had allowed 2 total pressures on 14 pass block snaps.

Once he took over a large amount of snaps starting against CLE, here was the breakdown...
CLE - 3 total pressures on 16 PB snaps
PHI - 1 total pressure on 18 PB snaps
LV - 4(!) total pressures on 44 PB snaps
BAL - 8(!!!) total pressures on 66 PB snaps
LAC - 6(!!) total pressures on 60 PB snaps
--------------------------------
22 pressures across 5 games

That is pretty bad alright. I just thought Ford would be giving up a lot of Sacks and even committing bad penalties on top of it.

We are, if someone told me we should start Ford I'd say no way. But, I do think he deserves praise for coming in and playing as well as he has when he is a fringe roster guy.
