Possible Zac Taylor replacements

Why Deion Sanders BENCHED SON in CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! #shorts

Before coming to Colorado he told the kids which ones were not needed and to take a hike, as he was bringing in his own players.
What a jerk.

Seeing Taylor removed would be an incredible shock to me.
He has taken the team further in the postseason since Sam Wyche.
The furthest in the MB era.
I can't see any way MB lets him go. It would be Anarumo, Pollack, and/or some other coaches.
Taylor would get at least one more year.

With that said, I could see Burrow and Chase lobby for Joe Brady.
While Brady has no HC experience, neither did Taylor, and Brady is coaching a dominant Bills offense right now and has the trust of Burrow and Chase.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Before he came to Colorado, they were 1-11....why would he not replace terrible players with better ones lol? It clearly worked.

Kind of what I was thinking. And who were these players he told to take a hike, were they all like Burton?

Here's something that bugs me...

Josh Allen has Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman as his two leading pass catchers until they traded for Cooper. They have the 3rd scoring offense.
Baker Mayfield has Chris Godwin (hurt) and Cade Otton as his two leading pass catchers. They have the 4th scoring offense.
Rookie Jayden Daniels has Terry McLaurin and 34-year-old cooked Zach Ertz as his two leading pass catchers. They have the 5th scoring offense.

They shouldn't be ahead of Joe Burrow with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Even in 2021 and 2022 we had the 7th and 7th scoring offenses which is quite good, but is it Joe Burrow + Ja'Marr Chase + Tee Higgins + Tyler Boyd good?

I mean the freaking PATRIOTS had a better scoring offense than us in '21 with Mac Jones throwing the ball to Jakobi Meyers and Kendrick Bourne and handing it off to Damien Harris. If Joe Burrow has never had a better ranked scoring offense than Mac Jones, there are problems.

I just feel like there's consistently better coaches who get more out of less than we do. There's absolutely zero reason why Burrow/Chase/Higgins isn't perennially a top-5 scoring offense competing for #1, but we've never broken into the top-5. Peyton Manning had a top-5 scoring offense in 12 of his 17 years.

I am too lazy to look it up, but where were those teams offensive lines ranked?  Kind of hard to lead the league in offense when you are lying on your back from the 5th or 6th sack of the game.   I don't disagree with you, we should not be 4-7 with this offense.  But ownership has to make the team better, with BETTER players, not cast offs from practice squads, or guys like Geno Stone or Sheldon Rankins who have really done nothing since they have been here.

I listened to him speak shortly after getting the Titans job, he likes a strong OL and a rushing attack that can pound the ball and a stifling defense. People sometimes don't realize that he couldn't run the offense he wanted to here in Cincinnati, as Zac is much too heavily involved in the offense for an OC to be able to express his own offense.

Considering who he learned from, I'd say that's absolutely true.

.... some of those defenses also put their offense in better positions as well.

Leonard, I agree with your premise, but you're selling Keon short. He's a gamer my friend.

Maybe...I mean we haven't had an even mildly interesting dude at HC since Wyche, though. Being concerned about a HC with too much personality coming here is like me being concerned too many super models are going to want to have sex with me.

Between Marvin and ZT it's been 20+ years of "what if a slice of Wonder Bread were a person?" at HC.

I'd bet most on here can remember the presser when Marvin was reupped after 2010 debacle. Everyone knew he was gone. MB gave his monotone speech. Then someone asked a question about how changes were gonna be made moving forward? Forget question word for word?

And Marvin answered "it Mike's team, he has the last word" There's gold in them there words. And I believe still to this day.

Zac Taylor is not going to be replaced. Nor should he. The problem is the lousy drafting and not getting enough high-quality free agents (or keeping ones that are filling key roles, like Reader). The team has a deficit of talent.

The team made one wise decision in signing Burrow before the cap exploded, making his contract reasonable, all things considered. But they messed up the Chase signing by delaying, because now he is likely to lead the league in receiving yards.

The Bengals don't need another head coach. They need to invest in scouting for the draft and investing more in quality free agents.

Maybe Lou can be replaced. I never understood his always being in consideration for a head coaching job when his teams are mediocre-to-very-poor in defense.

I agree mostly

They need a quality OC and a quality DC and some position coaches. I'm ok with leaving ZT in place. He just needs to step back and control big picture.

And also agree the Brown family needs to change their cheap ways. Hire a real GM and scouting dept. Quit refusing to pay top dollar 2nd contracts on IOL and Dline. So on and so on.

The (hopeful) good news is the FO has now seen what a change in coaching can result in.

Taylor was able to take a rapidly declining Marvin Lewis team to true contender and Super Bowl in just a few years.

Sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze, and the Bengals shouldn't be afraid of pulling the trigger on coaches to try to get better.

Unfortunately, I think it will take multiple consecutive losing seasons to get to that point of Taylor himself, but some coaching changes can be justified after this season.

With the year Burrow, Chase, Tee (when healthy), Brown, All, Mims is/was having. You can’t fault the OC.. or the offensive coaches outside of Pollack.

If we change offensive coordinator, they might as well reset with replacing Zac with the new offensive mind.

As long as Zac is HC and calling the plays, whomever the OC is is just a figurehead and "organizer" of the Zac Taylor offense.

Well, if the ping pong table is as important to turning the team's performance around as they think, then maybe this is the best candidate to replace Zac:

I think the problem isn't with the offense it's Zac sticking with Lou for so long. I hope this offseason we look at replacing the Defensive coaching staff. I would love to get a new face for that side of the ball. Some guys to consider. Aaron Curry( Pit. LB coach), Marquand Manuel (NYJ DB coach), Dion Hamilton ( Det LB coach), or Jack Del Rio. We need a new physical identity on that side of the ball, and with a few salary cuts we can upgrade a ton on that side
