Wasn't a bad decision. That's the closest to the endzone they've been all game and got nothing to lose. Gotta go for it. If it was outside the 5 yard line than yeah kicking it would be better. As far as Zac going for 4th and goal from the 1, when was the last time you saw anyone not go for it that early in the game. Once again it was the right decision.

Well I guess more then one thing will go wrong for us to miss the playoffs

Yeah it’s not happening boys.

Only ourselves to blame leaving it too late. Was always going to happen one year with our slow starts.

Hope this shows during the preseason to play the starters a bit more to get the rust off.

Considering the shit show on defence we made a good effort of it but too little too late.

I'm actually starting to wonder if they're tanking.

Besides trying to sign Kirk Cousins to a Russell Wilson-like 1yr/$1m if the Falcons cut him, their only chance at QB with Watson's massive contract weighing them down is to get a young talented one on a rookie contract.

If they win today they are 4-12 and there's 9 teams at 4-12 or worse.
If they lose today they are 3-11 and there's only 4 teams at 3-11 and none who are worse.

The Browns lost to the Giants this year, who won today. So I think the Browns with a loss would have at least the 3rd overall pick in the draft. I don't know how their tiebreakers with the Titans and Pats would line up who are the other two top-3 picks.

The difference between the 7th-9th pick and the 1st-3rd pick is pretty large.

Posters keep hammering Zac for going for it on 4th down. They ignore that Bengals went for it on 4th down in 2nd half and ended up getting a TD. They ignore the kicker missed a 33-yard FG (same distance as extra point) and yet they state with 100% certainty he would have made the 40-yard FG. They talk about he left 6 points on the game, ignore the 4 to 7 point gain when the Bengals went for it on 4th and ignore that Cade York might have missed the earlier FGs. And they ignore that Zac went for it at the end of the game rather than take it out of Burrow's hands and put on Cade York's feet. On the game-day thread, it was Zero credit, All criticism.

Rooting for the Chiefs and Aaron Rodgers. Yuck.

Pats have 1st pick as of now. Titans 2nd pick (the Tee pick in round 2 if we tag and trade him) Giants 3 and Browns 4rh

As of now, we are 16th

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Titans 2nd

You're looking at a listing that doesn't include today's games results.

Giants won today against the Colts and they're about to be 4th now with the Browns loss.

Patriots
Titans
Browns
Giants

Less than 2:30 left, down by 3 scores, and DTR still throws a 2 yard pass. Lol

A loss to the team who will probably have the #1 pick costing us the playoffs is going to be sickening.

So going for it 3 times and it working the third time means the first two were ok? People will also say that since York missed later, he would not have hit earlier. Could be the kicker couldn't handle the higher stress game winning kick, but could have done a routine FG earlier in the game. And if he was so bad, why send him out for the 33 yarder? Just go for it again on 4th down, right? And people ignore that if York had just hit one of the FGs, all the later game stuff MAY have not even been necessary.

I even said in the GTD I was ok with going for it on occasion, just hated the play calling sequence that led up to and included the 4th down play. Three trips inside the 25 and 3 points is not impressive, at all.

It's been a nauseating season at times to be sure.  Still, even if things don't work out next week I hope that at least Chase and Burrow ball out and set and keep adding to some records.  That would be a silver lining.

I particularly hated the play call where the ball bounced off Jamar's hands or the one where Zac called for Jow to throw it at a wide-open Gisecki's feet.

People "ignore" that so they can blame someone they've already decided they do not like.

yes, and a Bengals loss to Steelers and we get a higher pick also
Of course, NFL will have us play late Sunday as well as Chiefs/Denver and Jets/Miami so none of the 3 know final WC spot

It's a shame that Ja'Marr Chase was such a selfish PoS that he single-handedly made the entire team look like unprepared crap to start the season 0-2. The other 1-9 for the first two weeks of seasons over the years are still complete mysteries as to whose fault it is, but 2024? Certainly Ja'Marr's fault.
