Why draft Tycen Anderson?
#1
If no matter how bad the safety ahead of him plays you won’t play him?

What’s the point of drafting or even having depth?

Agree Stone is ranked dead last as the worst safety in the NFL so why not play Anderson ? Plus I’ve also seen Anderson make a bunch of tackles on special teams I guarantee he could make one of those tackles Stone missed.

I don't get what's up with him either? I'm hoping we start seeing a lot more of these bottom of the depth chart guys now that it's over.

Bengals are not a creature of change, they can’t get it through their head.  They assume things will get better. Hence, keeping Marvin Lewis for 17 years with no playoff wins.

Drafting players , then not playing them is ridiculous. If they are not good enough to start, don’t draft them.

Another player they need to check out to see if anything is there. The defense can't get worse.

Dude is one of the best gunners in the league. That’s worth a day 3 pick.

With that speed he has, he could play deep middle.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I get that he’s probably a ST stalwart, but the defense is so bad that, at this point, I’d look at swapping Anderson for Stone and let Stone be a gunner on ST. He was a 7th round pick by Baltimore, so you know he cut his teeth playing ST prior to earning a spot in their defense. Perhaps no drop off there. I’ve long been an Anderson supporter, was disappointed when he got hurt, and I feel like he’s earned some defensive snaps with his play in preseasons. He and Battle would be playing much more in tandem if it were my call. But I’m just a fan, I don’t see what these guys do throughout the week like the guys in the building do. /shrug

The special teams answer is a stupid one, IMCO, because he'd be rested from the offensive series and one sprint up the filed isn't going to tire him out so much that he can't play defense.

And kickoffs are pretty much obsolete at this point.

We also have one of the better punters in the league, which you could argue makes it more important to have good gunners (only middle of the road in fair catches), and special teams are important, but they don't matter if our defense can't stop anyone.

Gotta at least give him a chance on this dumpster fire of a defense.

Our defense is already the bottom of the depth chart, but I will admit the idea that under our terrible defense lies a less terrible defense is worth believing.

It's like kicking over a pile of dog crap in case there is a $1 bill under it.

special teams
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

My guess is: They like Stone and think he's playing ok.

Oh I get it

But why not play these guys a good bit more and see if they can do anything? I mean it's not like the guys playing can do anything.

Great Special Teams player, should be All Pro this year as a ST'er. But I am with you, he should be starting over Geno Stone as I have
been saying to Ochocincos in the other thread. Tycen is athletic enough to play FS unlike Battle or Bell. Battle and Anderson should of
been our starting duo at the beginning of the season looking back. Should of never signed Stone, that is for damn sure. The worst.
