Why draft Tycen Anderson?

Quinyon Mitchell has been a stud rookie alright. He pretty much shut down Ja'Marr when we played them Eagles. Mitchell
isn't playing like a rookie that is for sure. Could win Rookie DPOY. Nice thought on adding Toledo's DB coach Sunset. I like it. Smirk

With his size and speed if they're not gonna let Tycen play safety why not try him at CB?

The DB coach ( Corey Parker) who coached up Mitchell left Toledo and this year was the DB coach for Illinois. So that might be a guy who we should take a look at. This is only his 3rd year coaching in college. All of his other experience came from coaching at the high school. level He has almost 20 years experience in total.

Some people will read that as mostly HS coaching, however if he coached at a large HS that was very competitive, he would certainly recognize talent when he sees it and know how to develop it.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Didn’t you hear that Stone “wants to tackle”

He absolutely should get a chance to get on the field. He's better than at least two of the current starters at DB; Stone and Newton.

To be fair, I'm not sure that Anderson is adept at CB.

I agree to an extent, but I would argue that it's pretty hard to get much worse than the way Newton played last week or Stone has done all season. Obviously you're right, but hell, if he can just come up and shut down the screens and hitches it would be better than what we saw last week.

I'm not sure that Tycen is that guy. He's more of a deep Safety. They drafted Jordan Battle to be that in the box guy, let him play.

Not sure how so many of you have forgotten that Tycen was the middle defender on Punt Return. The Panthers called a fake punt and threw it to the middle field right where Tycen had been, but inexplicably, put his head down and ran full speed toward the sideline to help block a gunner. He has yet to get that spot back. If they cant trust him vs a punter they likely cannot trust him vs a real QB.

That said, if Mims can tackle I dont care if they put him at safety, it's been that bad.
