Ok, so I won't pretend to know offensive line blocking rules, but after the initial block, how is the rest of that play not blocking from the back?

Whitworth is so comfortable to listen to speaking, wish he had a role with the current team. On the other hand, I'm happy for him. He never needs to work unless he's bored.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

How would he be at guard? Wouldn't hurt to try at least but then I am not an offensive line coach.

Tackles and Guards are two totally different positions that many people seem to think if you can play one you can play both. Some can, but most cannot.

Sure looked like a whole lot of blocking ion the back especially when dude was already on the ground. But I don't know the complete rulebook when it comes to OL allowances

Because the contract was initiated face to face and the defended twisted his body away from the blocker. The momentum of both bodies just happened to land on the ground juxtaposed in that fashion. Had the initial contact been initiated to the back of the defender, likely would have been a penalty. Had the OL egregiously dove on the defender while laying on the ground, also likely a penalty. A lot of what is or isn't a penalty is often a judgement call by the witnessing official as the play unfolds.

Makes sense, thanks
