The FA guard market is rich. They can most likely sign a couple good veterans for a decent price.
I'd spend on a tier 1 DT and a solid edge, then take best defensive player available in round 1 of the draft - hopefully its a plug and play starter.
Which, ironically, is exactly why they won't sign one of them.

Ive been in the let Tee walk camp but if Burrow wants him give Burrow what he wants. Taylor has 2 game winning streak with Jamarr TEE and Joe as captains

Pratt has been solid in the past. How much of his decline is due to poor DL play and I believe he is playing more snaps especially since Wilson went down. I think our LB and our secondary would get better with better DL play against the run and the pass.
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Also, no way they cut Logan Wilson.
Spot on with both points Nicomo. Bring in a vet Guard and draft one early. Logan was hurt a lot of this season before the bad injury.
Pratt has no excuses for his poor play though, he was terrible late against the Titans. Tyjae Spears made him look really bad.
Wanted Spears in that Draft and he shown why.

I think I saw Dre Geenlaw is a FA next yr? He could be a Roquon Smith esque type of signing for us

Sure wish we would bring in a few more scouts that knew their ass from a hole in the ground alright....

Here are my cuts:
Sheldon Rankins

$2,250,000 - Dead Money
$8,000,000 - Cap and Cash savings 2025[
Zack Moss
$3,075,000 $1,500,000 $0 $0 $300,000 $100,000 $0 $0 $4,975,000
$1,500,000 - Dead Money
$3,475,000 - Cap and Cash savings 2025
Stone is also a possibly, but only if we have great FA safety in our sites or he goes back to playing poorly
This would add almost $30.5 million cap dollars for 2025.
If Stone is cut, and additional 6.5 million to partially pay for a stud safety in FA if one is available.
Fans hate on Volson, but he is paid low back up money, a little over 1.2 mullion, sign a guard and make him a backup.
We would need plug and play vets at WR2 (Higgins), Both guards (FA), DT (2) as Hill is a FA DE, RB and CB. We are too good on offense to not shore up our defense with FA vets.
Then, use the draft for high potential starters by end of 2025 or in 2026.
Those cuts + a Burrow restructure (+$19 mil) would put us over $110 mil in space.
Minus:
Chase extension = +9 mil
Higgins cap hit extension +22 mil
BJ Hill signing = $10 mil
Stud FA guard = $20 mil
-----------------
That's $61 mil. $110-$61 = $49 mil.
That $49 has to vover the PS ($4 mil) and our draft pool (say around $7 mil). So down to $38. And Mikey will never spend right to the cap. So say $30.
42 guys signed - 4 cuts + 6 picks + Tee, BJ, and stud guard. That's 47. 49 once Adomitis & Rehkow (or similar $1 mil men) are signed..
So say $28 mil for FA's who are above vet min level pay. Vet min guys like Ford & Hudson don't count, they guy they are displacing makes justcas much.
Quibble with my estimates all you want. They ain't THAT far off. I don't think I made a math error. Only Hilton, Gesicki, ADG, and maybe Trent Brown will command much in FA of our guys. Maybe Herbert or Ossai?
We could cut a bit more (Stone & Pratt) as well.
Some of the strong FA guards are coming off injury. Daniels tore his Achilles. Fries broke his tibia, badly. Zeitler is 34. I doubt those are $20 mil guys. Smith & Jenkins are healthy.
My point is, I don't friggin' buy, for a second, this idiotic idea that we cannot afford Tee & Chase. We can, and buy big in FA at the same time.

If they sign a FA guard James Daniels would be nice.
Through 2023
Mike Brown’s Owner/GM record: 32 years 223-303-4 .419 winning pct.
Playoff Record: 5-9, .357 winning pct.
Zac Taylor coaching record, reg. season: 37-44-1. .455 winning pct.

Regarding cuts: I agree with these ones:
1) Hubbard
2) Rankins
3) Cappa
4) Moss
5) Restructure Joe's contract.
-Thats 30 million in cap savings not counting a restructure. that's enough to get 3 solid players in FA:
1) Tevan Jenkins ( Guard)
2) Chase Young ( DE)
3) Camryn Bynum (S)

DL is to LBers, as OL is to RBs and QBs.

Our LB's outside of Wilson has been mediocre at best the last few years. We need more SPEED and someone who can rush the passer from that position.
