Scouting The Bowl Games
#21
Even if the game is bad this stuff is still fun to see. Tyler Warren blocking the defensive end 20 yards through the back of the endzone.

Next on the agenda is Texas v. Clemson

TEX:
GUNNAR HELM/TE: Tall/lanky TE (6'5"/238). Despite his size he's been used primarily "inline" at TEX until this year.

JAKE MAJORS/C: Big/Strong/Athletic

CLEM:
BARRETT CARTER: Undersized (6'1"/230) athletic LB.

PHIL MAFAH: Huge RB (6'1"/230) who can get the short yards

Texas DB Jahdee Barron is a name to keep an eye on.

We've all seen a lot of players sit out a Playoff game because of draft, but have we ever seen one quit at halftime?

Quote:Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, a potential top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, set the NCAA Division I record for touchdown passes during his bowl game appearance on Saturday and then sat for the second half.

Hmmm... debatably Ted Ginn Jr, though it was more than a half.

Malik Nabers did it last season. Set the LSU receiving record in thr first half of the bowl game vs Wisconsin then sat out the rest of the game.

Due to opt-outs and Transfer Portal many of the Bowl Games have become unwatchable. Luckily we'll get to see some big names tomorrow night and New Year's day

Dis anyone watch Fannin from BG?

117 for 1,555 and 10 TDs. I think he led the nation in yards and receptions, maybe TDs too?

Bowl game was vs Arkansas State, but 17/213 and a TD. Damn.

I'm hoping he drops to the 2nd or 3rd. He's the reason I'd be ok if Gesicki doesn't return, but no guarantee we'd draft him, of course.

He can actually block alright as well (nothing special, but not a liability like a Gesicki or Hudson), so it would be something great if we could get ahold of him. Testing may rise him even more, if he measures in taller than what he's listed at (and conversely, shorter may hurt him).

Milroe might want to rethink his decision

I have not seen him play. Kiper has him as #2 TE. It appears he is undersized. Can he add weight to be an inline blocker? Warren and Loveland are bigger, not sure if this guy could be 2024 Bowers. I loved Bowers and he lived up to the hype.

I want to see how he does at his pro day.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

He's a much better blocker than Bowers

FIESTA BOWL: PSU v. BSU

PSU: My 2 prospects remain unchanged. TYLER WARREN/TE and ZANE DURANT/DL.

BSU:
ASHTON JENTRY/RB: The term "generational talent" has been used. Good chance AJ is long gone before we pick, but undervalue of RB and over-drafting of QBs might help.
AHMED HASSANEIN/DE: Good-sized DE (6'3"/275) who gets into the opponent's backfield (22 sacks over last 2-years)

He seems like the prototypical Bengals DL prospect, able to play DE and stout enough to put down on a 5 man line for added inside pressure.

As good as Jentry is, I think that Tyler Warren could change the face of the Bengals offense a bit if he were selected. I mean we all loved what we saw when All was healthy and playing, Warren is pretty much that same guy sans the injuries.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations
