Bengals playoff hopes may very well be in the Kansas City Chief's hands

Isn't that something?

Start pulling for anyone playing KC.

Houston and/or Pittsburgh beating KC is mandatory at this point.

Need to pull for the Bills to win out.     They cannot lose a game.   We prefer the Chiefs still be 1 game ahead of the Bills heading into the Denver game.

The last game of the season needs to be KC fighting for the #1 seed.

Obviously the Colts and Dolphins need to lose a game.   Anybody that thinks either of those teams is winning out is crazy.

It is still a long shot, but Bengals still have to win out. Cleveland has always given us trouble and the Browns defense is still very good.

Denver is a very good team as well. But if we win the next 2, we have the Steelers waiting. Ideally, the Steelers beat the Ravens and seal the division this week. Then the Steelers beat KC, making KC's week 8 game against Denver meaningful.

It is the NFL, you never know, but my hunch is we come up a game short again. You can't lose a game to a bad NE team and expect to make the playoffs, then lose 2X to Ravens (again), lose to SD, lose to KC and have a horrible AFC record as a result.

The Bengals need change. They need to revamp the defense and fire Lou in my opinion. I also wish they would hire an OC so Zac can focus on both sides of. the ball and special teams. It is a ton of work to be OC and HC. Reid has an OC, and he is an offensive genius.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

I know it was a snow game, but let's not forget CLE beat PIT last month.
They also beat BAL earlier in the year.
Two things the Bengals have not done.
It is supposed to be in the low 30's on Sunday, so it might be heavier run game.
Bengals cannot overlook CLE.

If CLE wins, season is over.

And while we may say everything hinges on KC, PIT also will have likely something to play for the final week of the season, so that's not a gimme win for the Bengals either.

Tough sledding for the Bengals these next few weeks.
Hats off to Taylor and crew if they can pull it out.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Imagine being a "competitive" football team and hoping that other teams win your games for you..

While things have broken our way lately in terms of results, we still have played sloppy and like crap for the last 2 weeks, really, last 3 with 10+ penalties 3 weeks running.

We have not beaten a team with a winning record all year (Chiefs, Wash, Ravensx2, Philly, Chargers, Pitt).

We need 2 of those in a row + Indy losing to a dreg (Tenn, NYG, Jax), a Miami loss, AND KC beating Denver.

I think 5% is about right.

That's pretty much every team in the league

I think we put ourselves in too big a hole and still too flawed a team, but at least we're playing for something at the end of the season.

And if the stars align and the Bengals somehow sneak in, all bets are off. Crap defense aside, I don't think any playoff teams would really be looking forward to playing a Joe Burrow lead team.

At least these next couple games have meaning.

I've enjoyed them more not caring if they won or loss.

Hopefully the team doesn't tighten up playing for something again. They seemed to have played free with no expectations or pressure.

Yeah, it won't be easy against the Stains. If Garrett plays and DTR starts it will be even tougher.

Playing against DTR would help tremendously.  Hes not good.  Neither is Jameis but he has the ability to put in a solid game from time to time.

I did not want to write this, but as a matter of minimizing disappointment, please keep in mind that Denver beat KC last year and if not for a blocked FG, they would have beaten KC this year in KC.

This Denver defense matches up really well against the Chiefs. In the last three games under Sean Payton, Mahomes has 3 TDs and 3 INTs and KC has scored 19, 9 and 16 points. In Denver last year, KC lost 24-9 to the Broncos.

Counting on Broncos losing to KC in Denver is at best 50-50, even if KC is playing for the #1 seed.

Long way to go, .. im not sure how you don;t think Colts can't win out... They have titans and jags at home and road game against Giants. 8 wins combined vs our opponents 22

Obviously you haven't been paying attention to the Bengals track record of making Rookie and Backup QBs look like HOFers over the years..  Mellow

Titans have Mason Rudolph as their QB now. Their offense is better with him. Likely the best shot for a Colts loss of their 3 remaining games.

The MC Cheifs board had a whole 438 page thread on anti Bengals/JB takes. They do not want to see us in the playoffs.

The Colts also aren't some well oiled machine either. They're not a good team and it wouldn't shock me in the least if they lose any of their last 3. It won't shock me either if they do go 3-0, as their schedule is incredibly weak, but the Colts aren't some winning team themselves. Their two wins in the past 2 months have been one-point wins over the powerhouses that are... the Patriots and the Jets.

As for us... it's cool to see us still in the hunt and the path to us making it in isn't even that unrealistic. I absolutely don't want to be Kevin's opposite brother here and just be a downer, but there is zero I've seen from the Bengals defence all year long that makes me think we're about to run the table. Our defence has got to find a fire it has not had all year long for this to be possible, and I personally don't see it. They're a really bad unit. I'd love for them to prove different from here on out.

As for the title of the thread... I have no problem supporting the Chiefs if it helps us, and we'll beat them in the playoffs so don't have to root for them for too long  Tongue

Winston throws tons of interceptions and DTR is another one of those unknown QB's that as Sunset says our Defense tends to struggle against.

DTR is also a very good running QB.

Give me Winston if we want an easier win.

Oh, I'm sure that they see the Chiefs as the "lord's team" and the Bengals as led by the devil himself, Joe Burrow. I mean, the dude has the gall to show up at Arrowhead dressed as the transvestite Riddler, and then go onto defeat the holy Chiefs???

That was a Bruno-level costume from Burrow.
