So IDK, but not a pleasant time in the bfine household
At least you didn't have to suffer the miraculous td to force OT and our reliable kicker doinking the game winner off the upright. Sounds like your cable went off at the perfect time.
But damn what a game. Easily beats out my favorite of the past few years...the niners game at Levis last season
Edit: Oh and the ball never touched the ground despite all my voodoo tricks to make it so

I actually used Iheart Radio to log into WLW just in time to hear Laps say, "He overcooked the kick." At that point, I turned my phone off in disgust. I need to search NFL Network and tape the replay.

Yeah get that on tape asap
Your situation reminded me of NYE 2017. I was at a party watching the Bengals at the Ravens and some jackass changed the channel seconds before the 4th and 12 touchdown. I was so pissed and by the time I got back to the game, the good guys were kicking the extra point.

What's he supposed to do, snuggle him to the ground?

Cause they called it a TD in the first place is the only answer I can come with besides the ball never hitting the ground. It was bobbled
the entire time and Mims helmet was out of bounds way before the ball was secured. Mike Hilton with another great play late in the game.
What a crazy sequence of events late in that game. That play, the doinked FG then Burrow and his guys had no more of it once the Defense
finally made a good stop when it mattered...

But that ball was moving the entire time, until he was touching white. Bullshit call.
If he’s juggling the ball like that still upright it’s a no brainer no catch. Crazy it stayed a TD.

Yeah, it was a major screw up. Especially after replay, we should of won this game 3 times over honestly.
That was a great play by Mike Hilton making sure Mims never had the ball secure. Blatant bad call after review, I don't care if it was called a TD
initially. That is what reviews are for...

Always be cautious of your surroundings during games. I'm old enough to where I don't really enjoy going "out" much, so the comfort of my living room is comforting for games.

I thought it was a catch. Though I can see the counter-argument, I cannot see it hit the ground at any point. I mean, Hilton claws it away long after they are OOB.
For me, he has control before the helmet goes out. Yeah, it is close. But nothing to show he DIDN'T have control.
They said stands, not confirmed. If it is called the other way, then that probably stands as well.
I did not expect it to be overturned and don't feel hard done by on that play at all. The issue is the D giving it up, not the refs.
Some of you guys need to take off the orange and black glasses.

If he has control, then Martavis Bryant's TD in 2015 shouldn't count, Gresham's incompletion in 2011 should have counted and I can point to a whole slew of others: by definition, the ball was being bobbled and as we all know (and what Nate said), had it been called INC on the field, would've stayed that way.

I'm a little fuzzy on exactly when, but I seem to remember a statement from the league that went along the lines of giving the benefit of the doubt on questionable calls for the purpose of allowing replay to do it's job. It wasn't recent, but a few years ago.

Which I actually agree with, wholeheartedly.
But if it its ticky-tacky/wishy-washy, then whatever the call is on the field will be the end result, 99/100 times, which makes it the wrong way to go, in the end.

I can see your point, as the definition of "possession" comes into play. If the ball is still moving around as he's sliding out of bounds, does he really possess it in the field of play? We've seen calls similar go the other way many times.

Yea... forget the ground (it never touched the ground) but it definitely wasn't SECURE until his helmet was touching out of bounds.
If you have to "survive the ground," he definitely didn't.

Im amazed at how many of us Bengals fans still remember that play. Given how it was almost 20 years ago and it was not the game winner. I think it just eventually led to being the game winner.

I and the other male family members attending a baby shower were huddled around a tv when that play happened. I let out a string of profanities and then later apologized to those in attendance. That flag kept the drive alive and cost them the game, and as it turned out, the playoffs.

That'll teach you to attend a baby shower on game day..

If you slow down the video I linked earlier to 25% it looks really close with the helmet out of bounds and when the ball was under control. So probably too close to overturn.
