Go For 9-8 Record

Kevin deserves his due here. Playoffs or not, it is definitely something to have salvaged a winning season from 4-8. That's the kind of metal we've seen from the Steelers for decades now, and to my mind it does matter that you remain competitive even if the postseason might be beyond us.

That's it, You guys sux as fans.....As usual, all you want to do is come on hear and batch and moan.  It was the same on the old site on Bengals.com before they dumped all these complainers.   You guys can't enjoy a win over Steelers or a winning record.  If the girl of your dreams came into your life, you would complain about that.  Being Negative all the time is not the same as being realistic.  You people on here just enjoy batching and moaning about everything.  Great, you people agree with each other that  the Bengals sux, and vote yourselves most popular board members.  I will be the much hated poster that roots for the Bengals to Win.  I can see this will never change.

It's really hard to complain about the 5-game streak.

It took a stupid Cowboy special teamer, sure, and a lot of the teams they played were ass. But they managed to beat two teams with winning records when it mattered the most. They looked more like we've been used to seeing them and that was with a lot of youth in the lineup. Lot to be optimistic about next year.

100% concur. People mock Stealers fans because they get their whole personal identity from a professional team's win/loss record, while not realizing they do the same thing here. I've been riding this thing since 1968 and remember years where I was desperate for them to win 1 game. I'm enjoying the hell out of the Burrow era, win or lose. We get to watch some of the best football ever played with players who are 1st ballot Hall of Famers. But yeah, be negative all the time. Misery loves company I guess.

How much earlier in the draft order had the Bengals been if they had gone 8-9?
Earliest would have been 13th (MIA), but draft tiebreakers are different than playoff tiebreakers.
Bengals were the only 9-8 team in the league, surprisingly.

Interestingly, the Dolphins would have ended up drafting 16th had they beat the Jets but instead got 3 spots earlier.

Hopefully the Bengals don't miss out on a really good prospect that they want picking 17th instead of 13-15.
