Pretty much. And even that one took OT.

Dead cat bounce is when you're 2-9 or something and then manage to win 4 of 5 to finish 6-10,

How is that any different? We were 4-8 and climbed to 9-8. I will say, it made the end of season actually enjoyable to root for a slim chance of the playoffs. But Iwas vocal about losing out for a better draft position. 9-8 and missing the playoffs is honestly about the worst outcome for a season.

Winning one of the first two games would have changed everything. How the hell does New England beat us Defense was a train wreck. Lot to fix but we will be shelling out money for offense . Or offense looks different without Tee H. Not close to being as good with out him..

Absolutely no faith in FO to even start to fix this dumpster fire. Need more scouts to fix out terrible drafting and free agency.

Who day we are 0 and 0 now soon to be 0 and 2 then we can start our season

It's remarkable how the Rams are back in the playoffs with a retooled roster

Good coach. Good owner. Good FO.

I’ll let people decide for themselves how many of those we have.

We beat mostly marginal teams...and for whatever reason pitt is playing bad...

They got 6 games in division against average teams. Who is a Super Bowl contender? Rams get a home game against the Vikings, I say they lose

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

I seem to recall fans saying ML and Andy sucked because they got to the playoffs, could not win a game and drafted late as a result. ZT has 5 playoff wins.

And we played a 4th place schedule, how did that work out?

Steelers >> Broncos

Steelers have 5 wins against winning clubs including Denver, Bengals, Ravens, Chargers, and Commanders.

Broncos have 2 wins against winning clubs: Bucs and KC Backups.  Mellow

In Denver...

Wanna review what our defense ranked in Andy's first 5 years?

Scoring D: 9th, 8th, 5th, 12th, 2nd
Scoring O: 18th, 12th, 6th, 15th, 7th
Playoffs: L WC, L WC, L WC, L WC, L WC
Rec: 9-7, 10-6, 11-5, 10-5-1, 12-4

The D was better than the O every year.

Burrow:
Scoring D: 22nd, 17th, 6th, 21st, 25th
Scoring O: 29th, 7th, 7th, 16th, 6th
Playoffs: No, L SB, L Con, No, No
Rec: 4-11-1, 10-7, 12-4, 9-8, 9-8

Palmer:
Scoring D: 21st, 22nd, 17th, 24th, 19th, 6th
Scoring O: 10th, 4th, 8th, 11th, DNP (32nd), 22nd
Playoffs: No, L WC, No, No, No, L WC
Rec: 8-8, 11-5, 8-8, 7-9, 4-11-1, 10-6

Blake:
Scoring D: 26th, 24th, 23rd, 27th, 30th, 31st
Scoring O: 23rd, 14th, 5th, 10th, 27th (NOD), 24th
Playoffs: No, No, No, No, No, No
Rec: 3-13, 7-9, 8-8, 7-9, 3-13, 4-12

NOD is Neil O'Donnell.

Esiason (28 teams)
Scoring D: 26th, 23rd, 24th, 16th, 7th, 19th
Scoring O: 3rd, 3rd, 20th, 1st, 4th, 7th
Playoffs: No, No, No, L SB, No, L Div
Rec: 7-9, 10-6, 4-11, 12-4, 8-8, 9-7

Not makeing the playoffs in 1989 with the 4th best scoring O and 7th best scoring D was quite a trick.

Anderson: 26 teams
Scoring D: 5th, 11th, 13th, 6th, 7th
Scoring O: 13th, 11th, 10th, 9th, 6th
Playoffs: No, L Div, No, L Div, No
Rec: 8-6, 10-4, 7-7, 11-3, 10-4

10-4 not good enough for post-season that last year.

Really simple..No playoffs this year because at least two games (that I can remember) were lost due too missed field goals..make either one of those field goals and Bengals would be in..

Old Fat Andy is catching it, and not just from Cincinnati. Some are actually calling what he did illegal due to legalized gambling. While I don't think it rises to that level, it does raise some questions and I wonder if the league will address it. At some point, the NFL owes the ticket buyers a real game that they purchased to attend and television networks that buy the rights to a quality product as well. A lopsided game is one thing, throwing the match is something else entirely.

Quote:Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is facing backlash after the Cincinnati Bengals were knocked out of playoff contention following the defending champions' scoreless defeat to the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs rested their key players for Sunday's visit to Denver, with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, and more given the game off. The Dolphins and Bengals were in the hunt for a playoff birth, but they needed Kansas City to defeat the Broncos.
However, the Chiefs fell to a lifeless 38-0 scoreless defeat, meaning Kansas City will now avoid the Bengals' high-scoring offense on the AFC side of the playoff bracket while also enjoying its bye in the wild-card round. Reid, whose aim was to keep his squad fit and healthy in their bid to win a third consecutive Super Bowl, is now facing backlash for not fielding a strong team to at least fight against the Broncos.

The defeat was so one-sided that CBS pulled the game from their national broadcast. Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III has suggested that Reid tanked the game to avoid a potential matchup with the high-scoring Bengals, lead by Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, and Ja'Marr Chase.

"Chiefs did everything they could to make sure the Bengals didn't make the Playoffs. MY GAWD," he said on X. One fan even accused Reid's decision of manipulating the AFC playoff picture. "Andy Reid needs fined or fired immediately!" they fumed.

"What we witnessed in this game is illegal in sports. Taking a dive and trying to manipulate the entire playoff scenario in their favor. KC is disgusting."

However, the Bengals' early struggles, particularly in Sept., are no fault of the Chiefs. Cincinnati lost eight of their first 12 NFL games this season before winning their remaining five in a row to give themselves a chance at making the playoffs.

"For anyone out there complaining about the @Bengals not making the playoffs because the @Chiefs aren’t playing anyone in week 18 tell Cincinnati September matters too: *2024 0-3 then 1-5, *2023 0-2 then 1-3, *2022 0-2 then 2-3. All the games count the same amount. Start better," another fan pointed out.

For the Chiefs, they've been plagued with injuries in 2024 and still managed a 15-2 regular season record. Patrick Mahomes flirted with a spell on the sidelines following a knock, while Hollywood Brown missed most of the season, as did running back Isiah Pacheco.

Defensive star Chris Jones was also dealing with a calf injury in the final few weeks of the regular season. "They were able to get some rest, which I thought was important. I’m not recommending that you do that every year so, but down the road, I think we’ll be okay from it because of the rest that we gained here so, and that we also have the bye week coming up where, you know, there’s a chance that guys get a day or two off,” declared Reid.

I'm sure the NFL doesn't like it. But it is a rare situation. It really came down to one game because the Chiefs only had one loss. If they hadn't lost at all they probably play to stay undeafeted and if they had 2 losses they would've had to play to stay ahead of the Bills.

I'd rather sign a petition insisting the Bengals take the first month of the regular season seriously.

Though again, the idea of the NFL specifically punishing a 15-2 team for not trying to win is just crazy enough to work.
