I find Rapien to be the best of the beat reporters by far. He’s a breath of fresh air compared to Kelsey Conway, Ben Baby, etc.

I think he does an excellent job on Locked On with Jake Liscow, too.

He's fine.  He tries kind of hard sometimes.  Liscow is pretty solid.  I personally like Malik Wright.

An aside: I prefer the Locked on Reds guys to the Locked on Bengals crew, and it's entirely because of Rapien.

I stopped following Wright at some point. Found his “insider” act a little tiring. He never backed it up with anything substantial.

1 billion percent.

I don't think he's a bad guy at all, but 2021 had a few, "scoops," from him and stuff and they were half/fully true and he parlayed that into another talking head show, where he brings nothing but his opinion to things.

And where the, "insider," crap stopped outright as well.

And what's the deal with First Star Logistics giving him and others sports shows? Since when is a trucking company (I think? Not sure what they are) all of a sudden trying to get in on the local, sports talking head scene? It always struck me as odd.

He's whiffed on some stuff, but I'm a more recent listener.  He was on a winning streak for awhile before I actually followed him.

Yup we used to crush lineman drafts , even had that year where we had Anthony Collins who was a 5th rd. pick step in and play good at left tackle. Collins then got a big free agent contract from Tampa after that.

1. Collins was 4th round.
2. Prick wouldn't play RT or G.
3. Couldn't run block worth a damn, even though he was an excellent pass blocker.
4. Was cut 1 year into that contract because he showed he couldn't play LT and had a rough go, then retired.

I’d consider it a win was my point a 4th rd. pick who could come in and protect your QB’s blindside when Whit got hurt. Usally the backup LT situation for most teams is a disaster.

Much as I dislike him, he's never been known for making shit up.

But you know the real story. Sure.

Having met the dude myself, he wouldn't make stuff up just to get clicks.
The stuff he either reports is either his view (which he typically states up-front) or what he has been told.
It is possible though that someone could have fed him false information (intentionally or unintentionally).
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

However, the FO listened to Pollack in the 2022 draft and gave him a guy he really wanted, which was Cordell Volson.

Also, Pollack was clearly a front office hire. It was known that the FO loved him and didn't want him to leave after 2018. We had Jim Turner, who is arguably one of the worst hires ever in team history. Pollack's style doesn't mesh with the offense that we've had to implement for Burrow.

There's a lot of blame on multiple sides with these failures.

That blows, I wanted Creed in the 2nd (most of my mocks took him in the first), and Trey was one i also wanted, i was screaming for him starting in the 4th, and the 5th, I wasn't to upset about Volson, he comes from North Dakota State and they have been pumping out decent OL lately.

Yeah, Smith was a dude I was hoping that they would grab in the middle rounds but no such luck. The medical BS allowed him to fall.
