Life long bengal fan here in central ohio. Been through all the highs and lows since 1988. Anyway I keep consistently hearing how the FO is too blame for Lou, Pollack and others failures as coaches. I agree with everyone else that our FO has huge room for improvement from spending money to roster management, but at what point is it on the coaches to teach and develop these players??? I see all these other teams in the league with same or less talent than us on the defensive side and O line but are consistently competitive. Im not one for excuses of these coaches and im more than happy to see the coaching changes. Tired of seeing Joe beat to death and tired of db's playing 10 yds off the ball on 3rd and 1 and the lack of blitzing when you have no pass rush. Im all for these changes and heres to greener pastures in the future. If not im all for Zac being shown the door next!

it all starts with scouting and getting good players that will transition well to the NFL...more often than not the Bengals have done a bad job..

What excuses? What are you going on about?
There are a handful of issues with the team and they from the very top (management) all the way to the on-field product (some of the players). These aren't, "excuses," there needs to be changes made at every level, some wholesale, some just tweaks.
I don't see any excuses from anyone, all I see are people taking accountability and those that need to be canned, being canned.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

It's also with officiating. I'm the LAST person to blame officiating especially when it comes to PI and holding calls because EVERY team's OL holds, EVERY team's DB get away with PI and all teams get the benefits as well as getting screwed from both, as well as most people have no idea what holding is but my god, is there more physical, unlawful abuse put on a QB than there is with Burrow?
Somebody please tell me the blatant missed calls that every QB in the league not named JB would have gotten and how these calls would have won a couple games for Cinci. or at least put them into such position to win that even a caveman could have won. It's beyond belief to be honest.

Do you really want to go back and count the number of times Burrow was hit in the head, got his facemask pulled, or was slammed to the ground with no flags?

This is definitely a thing alright. No QB gets hit as much as Burrow (I know some of it is his fault) illegally with no calls.
To the OP, I actually understand a lot of what you are saying as I also have been seeing the coaches that got fired getting defended on here
and just blaming Duke for everything. It is both bad picks/bad moves from Duke and company and poor coaching not being able to coach up
players. It is not one or the other.

You mean from a very minority portion of our idiot fan brigade? Who cares what we the fans think? The FO doesn't. Zach doesn't.
Are you suggesting that the griping, themes and narratives on this board or the press represent the reality of what's going behind the Bengals closed doors?
Tell me you aren't serious.
If you're really complaining about the topics being discussed here, then you are a joke.

Why don't you do it for us since you have nothing better to add.

Just because you spend a draft pick on a guy doesnt mean he can simply be coached up to become a good player. Myles Murphy was a 1st round draft pick and you have some people say Lou didnt coach him up. The problem might just be Murphy isnt all that good and cant be coached to become good. When Murphy was drafted it was pointed out how mediocre he was in college at rushing the passer. Murphy was never a dominant pass rusher but yet some people expect he should be. Why? Why wasnt Jackson Carman coached up? Why wasnt Volson? Why isnt Burton being coach up? The reality is the Bengals have the smallest scouting department in the NFL and they tend to have a lot of misses with their draft picks. That's not an excuse, that is reality.

Plenty of blame to go around for this season. It's like the defense, special teams, offense and coaches took turns to figure out a way to lose any particular game.
To each his own... unless you belong to a political party...
