He should be answering for back-to-back years of no playoffs. Making Zac do it by himself is beyond weak.

Would this be because of the time in the offseason and that he doesn’t want to give out his strategy on something?
He does interviews other times of the year, right?

Imagine if he made me GM?
Wow that would be cool. We’d definitely win a Super Bowl

Let's pretend it's because they are still evaluating him and don't want him speaking for the team.

So many questions lol. Why can’t you develop any offensive lineman ever ? Why did Bates walk ? Why haven’t all these picks on defense worked out Hill, Carter , Murphy, ect. Explain why Stone and Rankins didn’t work ? Were you concerned about Burton coming out of the draft ? Why couldn’t you resign Chase before the season ? Can you resign Higgins now that Bates walked ?

Sheesh I just read through some of the responses here and all I can say is, no wonder he doesn't talk to fans.
As I have been in corporate America for 30+ years let me tell you why Duke declined the interview......and here it is. This is a volatile negative issue. Zach is that the for front of the decision and representing not only himself but the Bengals on this particular matter. He is acting as if the buck stops with him and the Bengals are supporting him as their focal point in this case. Interviewing Duke would dilute the focus and frankly add nothing to the conversation as Zach is already giving us Corporate Speak. Summary: Zach is the focal point on the firings/hirings and Duke will not address it.

Right Mr. Press guy......if you asked those questions you'd never get an interview again and lose your press credentials, thus ending your livelihood. Smart.

We get Zac is front facing for hiring and firing of the coaches. Why waste time interviewing him about that when like you said Zac gives us enough. Questions about the roster makeup, draft failures, scout department size, FA approach, and contracts is what he was avoiding. Summary: He’d probably love to talk about assistant coaches wishlists. I get from your corporate executive training you throw the fall man to the wolves to shield attacked on executive decisions you make so you can live long and fat on corporate greed. That don’t make it right. Quote:"Success doesn’t mean every single move they make is good" ~ Anonymous

He’s weak. They force Zac to answer questions that he has no control over (Chase, Higgins and Trey Contract).
He knows if he had to speak he’d get roasted.

Tampa Bay GM was giving an interview to Solomon Wilcots today. Guess he wasn't too busy.
Like a teenage girl driving a Ferrari.
