Hilarious

He held Georgia to 10 points, A&M, who was second in scoring, to 13, Navy and Army, ranked 9th and 13th in scoring, to 14 points each, and was 11th(?) in yards allowed.

He's a great signing!

And the argument I would have is that scheme only gets you so far. That Ohio St team was friggin loaded with players who are NFL ready. Both RBs and WR2 will be good NFL players. And their WR1 is a 19 year old who could burn a lot of NFL DBs right now.

They also did much better in the second half for what it’s worth.

I don’t know how it will work out for him as DC but you can’t judge him on just that game. I don’t think any scheme could over come that talent gap.

I am no expert so hope is best ZT hire ever.

ND lost a top 15 CB and top 3 cover corner midway through the season They also lost 2 key DL for the OSU game.

He made great strides in 1 year and overcame injury. OSU got hot at the time. Playing OSU is a dome favors them also versus bad weather. OSU had a great playoff and deserved the title over my ND team.

Some mentioned Xavier Watts, he did not have his best game against OSU, but I really like him. Great instincts, solid tackler and great ball skills. I would love him in round 2 if we don't sign a vet safety to replace Geno (please cut).

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Golden will certainly make tweaks to the defense and put his stamp on the group. His biggest task will be getting the most out of Cincinnati’s young players on defense.

I'm not sure I want Golden keeping the same scheme.

I would expect we see more blitzing and man coverage based on his numbers while at ND. I think he favors more aggression over Lou historically looking to bend not break.

Yay, maybe no more 3rd and 8 in the 4th quarter with corners sitting 10 yards back

I hope he hires the best DC in the 2025 NFL season and behind and he helps Burrow, Chase, Trey, Mike Brown and ZT win the Super Bowl.

You did not sum it up well. Multiple local reporters have hinted that you don't get multiple chances at blowing up a staff and keeping your job. They've also said that these hires are Zac's decisions. If these falter, then it's most likely the end of Zac's run here.

I'm not hoping for anyone's failure. Burrow is the best shot we've ever had at winning a Super Bowl. I don't want to waste his career.

Evidently he does, this Jerry Montgomery who I know nothing about. Mellow

DL coach with the pats last year.....before that the DL coach of the packers.....coached up Kenny Cllark and rashan gary etc.

Im excited for Golden. Fresh scheme and a new eye for talent might be just what we need. We need to get faster and more athletic in the front 7 and more disciplined on the back end. Hopefully Golden can get these freak athletes like Dax, CTB, Myles Murphy and DJ Turner to play up to their full potential. Might be time to cut Pratt too hes still good sometimes but hes just too slow in my opinion. Would love to sign or draft an athletic LB alongside Logan. Geno Smith, Rankins and Hubbard gotta be gone. Im pretty bullish on Jenkins and Jackson at DT but obviously would be nice to sign a veteran or 2.

I am not judging Al Golden and we all hope that he will be very successful..but this premise of "scheme" is a bunch of malarky..If players have the athleticism, smarts, and desitre they can be successful in most any scheme..furthermore, "schemes" change multiple times during a game..I saw bad tackling this year, players out of position and lack of effort..if Golden can improve those areas..regardless of his "scheme" we should do better

Rapien made the point that our LB developed when he was here.

I think they regressed upon his departure.

Well, Mahomes seemed to be the one QB that Lou completely befuddled, certainly in the 2nd half of the KC games.

Supposedly they are close on a LB coach as well

We may see a few more gashes but we should also see more defensive splash plays - sacks, fumbles, interceptions.  High risk/high reward..
I took forward to it, we need to draft/sign a couple decent/good guys on defense.

Thanks Pulses, was reading up on Montgomery last night. I like the hire. He had some good DL's with the Packers. He also coached
the Smith's who were some really good Ends a few years ago. Always liked Kenny Clark at DT and think Rashan Gary is a decent End.

Yeah, needed a fresh start on Defense with a new scheme that fits what our players do best. Golden coached Pratt and Logan when
they were at their best so I will trust him on what he wants to do with the Linebackers. Geno Stone and Rankins definitely need to be
showed the door. If we can cut Sam and bring him back for cheap I would be for it if he still has something in him. He works really hard
and is a good run stopper at the very least.

Both Mahomes and Josh Allen struggled against Lou's Defense. This is about my only concern with moving on, but I am sure we will be
better at tackling, stopping the run and having less explosive plays against our Defense under Golden. We will see, bet we also fare better
against our rivals in the North.

Stopping Mahomes and Josh are cool, but you need to be able to stop the Russell Wilsons, Cooper Rushes, Andy Daltons, Jacoby Brissetts, and Mike Whites of the world first .
