Arguments For Burrow For MVP!

Defenses have to respect the threat. They have to fill those gaps. Lamar and Allen had more playaction than Burrow did but Burrow ran the most RPOs in the league. This reflects the offensive preference to shotgun usage since RPOs by default are in shotgun.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

MVP criteria is not really defined but in the NFL they have an established that unless you are on a team that makes the post season you have no shot.
I will just say that Burrow was the best player I the NFL this year. Maybe he can get the #1 spot in the NFL networks 100 top players but no MVP

The real shame is that I think Chase’s triple crown won’t even get him the OPOTY as they will give I to Barkley. I disagree as he was running behind a great line. Chase was a dominant receiver with tons of YAC.

As for DPOTY I think they will give it to Surtain.
The crime is that you know if Garrett/Watt/Parsons had Treys stats they would easily win DPOTY. Since it’s not one of them they will give it to a CB.

Unlike MVP those awards have nothing to do with team accomplishments yet i think they are going to lose out on both awards because Bengals…

And Chase was catching passes from Joe Burrow who just earlier in your post you called "the best player (in) the NFL this year".

I'd like to think there is an argument for a Burrow MVP, and I hope at least one voter throws him a sympathy vote. But objectively, the award typically goes to the best QB of a winning team. So even if Burrow is probably the QB that elevates his team most, Lamar or Allen will get it.

Technically, 9-8 is a winning record.  Ninja

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Maybe next season? getting to the playoffs is a requirement...

also, a 10-7 team hosting a game for a 14-3 team in the NFL is just wrong...

What?

If you call his season of leading the league in passing yards and passing TDS as "fine", I would be interested in your definition of Good and Excellent. And please don't give me the record argument. He doesn't play defense or kick the ball.

Yes. And literally.

The 14-3 team had a chance in Week 18 to be 15-2 and have a bye followed by a home game. They lost, so they have to go on the road.

Disagree, with the "nor should he."He led the NFL,in passing yards, touchdowns, and quarterback rating. He should be the NFL MVP.It's an individual award. Not a team award.

True but, being the quarterback, his main job is to win games.

It's unfair when considering how bad our defense was, but that's just the way it is.
