The bengals were 8-4 last year in games Tee played.
They are 35-19 since 2021, in games he plays. He makes a difference.
Obviously the defense was bad, but it isn’t a huge lift to go from 30th to middle of the road, especially with a new DC. It happens every year (see Washington)
Hubbard, while a good player when healthy, would never be considered a sack artist. But I can see that the point of what I wrote went completely over your head. The Bengals didn't miss out on the playoffs due to lack of offensive production, it was because they couldn't stop teams from scoring.

So you’re saying Mohamed sanu is a “catch” artist? Listing average WR? While omitting average DL is a bad take.
My point is, we haven’t drafted great (as a whole) at WR in the last decas, hitting on exactly 2 players, since Boyd in 2016. Losing either tee or Trey hurts our team.
You could technically point to the NE game and literally say they missed out on the playoffs due to lake of offense. That said, it really was a team collapse for the first 2/3 of the season.
Why do you like to hurl little insults directly at posters? Seems petty and off putting. Not to mention Odd coming from a moderator. But hey, it’s over my head right?

Where is this insult that you are claiming that I "hurled" at you? I'm not the one being petty or off putting, as I was only pointing out that we have a difference of opinion on how the team roster should be managed. You seem to be the one who took a simple disagreement as some sort of "insult" or "attack".

lol, then you could have left off the “went over you’re head”. It’s the first time (in the least week). It doesn’t bother me, I just find it odd as we can differ on opinions, without the extra curricular.
Would you ever tell someone you care about, or work with, “I can see that just went right over your head”?
Anyway, it’s a bad look coming from a board moderator IMO. But you do you my friend.

Assuming I didn't f the math up and assuming he wants a top 5 contract.
It looks like at minimum were looking at a 2 year 57.4 million(28.7 a year) and 39 million(68%) in guaranteed money contract extension.
More realistically I imagine it would be a 3 year 90 million(30 A year) and 63 million (70%) in guaranteed money contract extension.

If we run a Fangio defense and deploy 3-4 front 50% of the time, where does that leave Trey?
Can he line up as a 3-4 DE?
Can he line up as an OLB in a two-point stance?
Can he drop in coverage?
And the bigger question is, why in the world would anyone want him to do that? You can possibly haul a trailer with a Bugatti - but why?
Food for thought, as Desai brings the Fangio defense to Cincinnati.

Very durable (knock on wood), and clutch as hell.
Smart, great attitude. Best player on defense.
Any vote other than locking him up is overthinking it.

I agree with you completely and add the best sack artists in NFL.
And that is my point - as valuable as he is as a 4-3 RDE, I'm not sure you can derive the same value from him as a 3-4 DE or OLB.

The idea of trading him doesn’t make sense because whatever draft pick you acquire will not net you a top 5 edge rusher in the nfl to replace his impact.

I would be very surprised to see us go to a 3-4 defense. Our players were not picked for that system, so it would take several years to be effective, and MB likes a 4-3 defense. They're not going to rebuild a defense at the same time they are trying to win the championship.

i mean you dont really need sources to tell you that if an NFL team cant pay a star player they will try and trade them.
This person also states Tee has 1 year left on his deal. (did he get tagged again already) if not then he has no years left. (so kinda hurts the credability)

Would you trade Trey for Micah Parsons? Saw an SI article proposing it.
