Pick #17 if we lose Tee

I'm all about fixing the O and Dline this off season. IMHO it was our single biggest problem this past season, however...

If we lose Tee and Gesicki this off season we have to have weapons besides the Chase's. If the team is active in free agency and gets some help for the trenches I wouldn't be opposed to taking Emeka Egbuka at #17 f he's still there.

His game to me seems to look like a T.J. Housh kinda thing with some ability to stretch the field as well. I don't think it would be much of a stretch at all to take him there if all the best Dlinemen are gone.

I could see Egbuka having similar results to McConkey if he gets drafted to. team with a very good QB. He appears NFL ready.

As for DL and OL, I just don't like the idea of drafting a plug and play starter as they're still boys going against men so most seem to need time to develop. I hope we fix our DL and OL via free agency.

The other guy I think who changes our team is Tyler Warren. I would be happy with either of the two.

I prefer to take Tre Harris at #17, just feel he fits better replacing Higgins on outside, i think we go FA more for our line issues and WRs seem more polished coming out of college, so im good take a WR at #17

Tre Harris is coming out of that Lane Kiffin offense so he isn't the best route runner and has a very limited route tree (Jermaine Burton tree). He's probably just a big body vertical receiver 1 with room to grow.


Emeka Egbuka is a a fantastic route runner, great blocker, and alignment versitle. He would take over in the slot and allow Yoshi and Burton to compete on the outside.


Edit: If I'm looking for a guy to step right into Tee Higgins role in the Bengals offense it's Iowa State's Jayden Higgins.

I feel there's a strong case for double E being the most NFL ready receiver in the draft.

I have to disagree, I like Tre Harris ability to make those high point catches especially in the boundary , he very experienced and just think fits our offense well... Burton is very doubtful to be on the team and high risk, like Yosi is a nice backup but showing why he was a 3rd day pick.

I agree with you. Egbuka is the type of player you want on your team. He is a good teammate a great guy and can do everything well. Runs
great routes, has great hands is a great blocker etc. Cannot go wrong with Egbuka. Sure hope we bring back Gesicki at the very least though
and I am expecting Burrow to do a restructure of some sort to bring back Tee so we can draft in the trenches in the first round.

Who knows what the Bengals F.O. is thinking/planning? I just kinda doubt Tee returning is anything even remotely close to a slam dunk. There's always a team out there ready and willing to pay big bucks for a Tee caliber free agent, and it scares me.

Then if they let Gesicki go we're hurting bad for receivers! Iosavis has made some plays but I think he tops out about a #4/part time #3 level player and would put Chase back to being doubled every snap again.

If I'm targeting a receiver in the late teens in Rd 1, I would be looking at Egbuka, Loveland, or Warren.
Yes, the latter two are TEs, but I think both of these dudes can be good 2nd options in an offense (if used right).
I would also consider trading a late pick for Kyle Pitts instead.

I agree, and with him having played and excelled with 3 different QBs over his college career, as well as a change in OC, he should have little difficulty in acclimating to an NFL offense.

Could be correct. I am just going off of what Joe said. To him Tee is a need and he said he would do whatever needed to bring him back.

But as you say, this isn't a slam dunk either. Egbuka is like you say the most polished, ready to play WR in this Draft. I bet he would come in 
and just move the chains ala Housh for us.

Always liked Warren and we will need a TE especially if Gesicki leaves, but we need one anyway with All hurt. Burrow shown he likes to use 
the TE's this last season.

Why not both? After giving Chase his big deal, the Bengals could have Burrow's primary receiving weapons locked up for the next 4-5 years.

IDK, he "learned" the slot this year because he was our 3rd best WR. We may get more from him on the outside. 

If we draft a X or Z I hope we move Chase inside and let high draft choice and Yoshi work the exterior. 

It's possible the plan was to move Chase to the slot this year and have Tee/Yoshi outside last year, but we couldn't because JaMar skipped TC

Egbuka isn't a bad prospect, but I would go with Warren, Loveland, or even Jeanty if I was taking an offensive weapon at 17.  Those guys have the potential to be special.  Egbuka will be good, but never be a top tier guy at his position.

Yoshi actually only lined up in the slot 49.6% of the time last year per Player Profiler.  I do agree that his skill set is better suited for outside, though.

Draft the best player available and don't reach for a WR. You can get a Jack Bech or Jaylen Royals in the second. Also a Orande Gadsden at TE would be a nice addition in the third or 4th rd.

Would you want to relegate Pitts to 3rd option in the offense?
Or if Pitts is 2nd option, would you want to have spent a 1st round pick on a guy who will be 3rd option in the offense?

The way I would look at it is Kyle Pitts could be your contested catch guy when the defense has Chase locked in double team, and Egbuka becomes your new possession receiver that also has big play ability. I'd actually prefer to see the Bengals go to a 2TE look as their primary set, rather than the 3WR 11 personnel. I just feel like if they make utilizing the middle of the field a priority, the edges of the field will be open for big plays a few times each game.

I think realist expectation with Tee since we can franchise him and stop him from testing market in 2025

1. We sign him to a long-term deal and keep him.
2. We sign him to a long-term deal and trade him for multiple picks.
3. We tag him and keep him for 1 more year.
4. We do nothing, and he signs elsewhere.

It would be stupid for the FO to go to #4 and only get a compensatory pick in 2026, when at a minimum, they can get multiples like at least a 2nd and 4th rounder if we don't want to pay 2 WR's top bucks.

The key to it all is the Bengals have the hammer for one more year 2025.
