Jerry Montgomery new DL Coach
#1
Montgomery was a longtime DL coach (9 years) with the Packers.  Spent last season with the Patriots but has 20 years as a defensive line coach

All hopes turn to next year

I’m sure Golden had a say in this hire.

Hiring DL before DC is strange. Also know maybe they didn't have the most talent to work with, but also sure is strange hiring so many fired coaches from a back-to-back 4-13 team.

Golden was hired. I have no doubt he was involved in the decision.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Let's hope the hires work out. I'm excited to see if the new staff help improve the team.

He was at Oklahoma. Hell of a recruiter and players liked him a ton. He left Oklahoma for the Packers. He was pretty good but that was 10 years ago. Didn’t get along with Mike Stoops. He was one of many in that regard.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Strange, yet not unheard of for this organization.
Through 2024

Mike Brown Owner/GM record: 34 years  232-311-4  .419 winning pct.
Playoff Record:  5-9 .357 winning pct.
Zac Taylor coaching record: 6 years 46-52-1 .470 winning pct.
Playoff Record: 5-2 .714 winning pct.

Excited for this because I think we have some talent on the d-line!

I think Jackson will get some pressure from the nose, even on passing downs, which will leave Hill and the ends single blocked and cause a lot of disruption!

Excited for Jenkins too.

I'm liking our outlook for next season!

He definitely has his work cut out for him. Hopefully he can actually unlock Myles Murphy while also help Jenkins and Jackson develop.

Golden is probably just a formality, at this point.

Montgomery had plenty of success in GB, to be fair.  Just got kicked to the curb with Mayo.

He made a great point about how our linebackers developed under Golden.

They seem to have regressed since his departure.

Al Golden’s family never left Cincy I saw somewhere. This deal has been in the making you can bet. You can go to the college ranks or hire asst. DL coaches from other teams or coaches from fired staffs. I’d assume Golden signed off.
