Praying he gets full seasons in before his 2nd contract talks begin

I agree.

Was thinking if the Bengals moved on from Higgins, I would love to see them draft a TE like Tyler Warren for a safety net. That would make All the #2, which is a good spot to be in, as he would not get as many reps and could take longer to get to 100% if needed.

Plus cheaper to sign a TE long term than it is to sign a top WR.

I'm pulling for him to turn his injury history around.

Dude is not seeing a football field for a LONG time. 2 ACL’s in the same knee in the span of a year is quite an uphill battle to come back from. Harsh as it sounds I’m pretty much writing him off. If he can come back and actually play well at some point I will look at it as a pleasant surprise.

I heard he's on pace to get injured again very soon.

I actually really like All and think he could turn out to be pretty special. I'm just afraid of his track record.

I am not expecting him to contribute to this team ever again.

It's harsh saying that, but its reality.

Sucks.

Cannot count on him. Think this is his 3rd ACL tear, crazy. Was really impressed with him until he got hurt though. Bring back Gesicki
and draft a TE like Tyler Warren is my vote. Joe shown he likes TE's if they are good. McLachlan never really got a shot even after All's
injury so he must not be the answer and he is older as well.

Last I heard they were referring to it as just a flesh wound and Erik is ready to kick butt:

Just an ACL. Never forget Thomas Davis.
I'd bet he is crushing his PT. Having just gone through it.

Ouch. I didn't realize it was like that. Now I know. Disappointing to hear though.

Thomas Davis tore his ACL and then proceeded to play just 2 games over the next 1,035 days.

Not the best example unless you're trying to get us excited for Erick All's comeback in 2027.

3 ACL tears in a row in the same knee. 2009 2010 and 2011. Followed by 5 consecutive 100+ tackles seasons and he didn’t retire until 2020.

I’m just saying it’s not safe to assume All’s career is over.

Ngl didn’t know this was his 3 ACL tear

He’s likely done in the next 3 years

Hopefully he gets some healthy years for his own mental health so he can always tell his kids he was great when he played

I could be wrong, but I think it's "only" his 2nd. It's just that it was 2 within less than 12 months.

In 2022 it was a back surgery.

I think 2nd is correct. But it is the same knee twice, and non-contact. Very worrisome.

This is the outlier, not the expectation. Thomas Davis had a high ceiling coming out of college. He was a phenomenal football players. If his ceiling was 95/100 and after injury he was 80-85/100, that is still a very solid contributor.

All is a good player. His ceiling may be in that 80-85 range, but post injury his ceiling is 70ish.

I’m kind of making this up, but hopefully this illustrates the point.

There is a lot of data that supports it is an uphill battle for ALL.

Its a big blow to the future draft plans if we need to add another TE early...was rooting for the kid as he showed some flashes especially as a blocker and we knew he would be a better receiver then Sample. So many holes to fill on the D.  Maybe another  TE in Rd 3 or 4 as I doubt they resign Mike G and also sign another FA TE.

The FA TE class is awful. Gesicki is #2. To upgrade, we almost certainly have to look to the draft. Though most of the guys are move TE's/receiver types.

For me, despite the holes on D, I am not enamored with any of the DL guys likely to be around at #17 (assuming Carter & Graham are gone). Especially the DE's. Not sure the late Rd1 DEs are that much better than the Rd2 guys. And I still think we want DE's, not OLB's (Pearce).

For that reason, I think if there is a talented guy who drops to us at #17, we should take him. Starks, Warren, and Walker are top 10 players in my book. And we could use help at S-slot corner, TE, and LB-edge. You wouldn't be ignoring a need.

I'd be fine with a smart mid-level vet signing + a Day 2 pick at DE & DT. If it is our own, then Ossai & BJ Hill. If we want to go outside, then I am good with DTs like Calais Campbell, Poona Ford, Teair Tart types. I do not love the FA DE class.

There's some possibilities in the trade market.

-Noah Fant (age 28 in 2025) is in his contract year in Seattle.
-Kyle Pitts (age 25 in 2025) is in his contract year in Atlanta.

Both are on teams behind pretty good WR trios, and those teams are both currently in line to have negative cap space for 2025. Both are young enough that you could expect at least 3-4 years from them.

-Jonnu Smith (age 30 in 2025) is also in his contract year with the Dolphins but that's more of a short-term fix, but Miami is also currently at negative cap though I know Tyreek wants out so I don't know if they'll also move Jonnu.
-Mark Andrews (age 30 in 2025) is being mentioned as a possible cut-candidate with the Ravens as they move onto Likely being the starter and probably needing some cap space as they're not currently negative, but they are already under $10m.
