Future of the Defensive Line.

Cleveland is not trading Garrett within their own division much less to their in-state rival.
There is just no way they would trade him to Cincy (unless they got Burrow in the deal but that obviously ain’t happening)

Lets just be happy if he gets dealt out of the division - hopefully to an NFC team.

Be useful for once in your existence, Browns, and don't trade him to KC or Buffalo. Send him to the Panthers or the Bears.

The news report on the subject said that he expressed that he wants to be traded to a contender as he wants to win a Superbowl.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

One could argue that a Garret/Hendrickson combo would immediately make the Bengals defense formidable.  Even without Tee, the Bengals will win a lot of games with a solid defense that terrorizes the QBs which means more turn overs and negative plays and great starting field position for Burrow.

I understand, and actually feel the same way. However, this team is more than just another DE away from being a formidable defense. The offense also needs much work, particularly on the OL. The way things are looking, that money for the offense is going to be tied up in WR extensions, meaning the Rushing game will continue to be sub par and Joe will still have to be on high alert when passing.

Hypothetically, if you were to sign those two guys this off-season then every defensive player that is either cut or coming off a so so season would  want to come here for the less than ideal contracts. Guys like Dre Greenlaw, Jonathan Allen, and Paulson Adebo would make sense for the defense.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

I've seen an article or two proposing that the Bengals trade Hendrickson away to the Bears, and trade for Garett. Something like that would make sense.

I would only do a deal for Garrett if he would take a discount contract. If not, then I would just keep Trey.

Garretts' current contract has 2 years remaining, he has a low base (very low) and large roster bonus each year. How is 20 million in 2025 and 20 million in 2026 sound?

Trey wants an extension and likely in 25 to 30 million range.

Garrett is cheaper but will also cost a 1st round and maybe a second-round pick as well. Trey obviously costs us nothing if we keep, but also give us draft picks in a trade, just not as good as Browns will get in a trade for Garett.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

He has a void year of 40.9 in 2027 which scares me because I dont know if we get that or not. Also, I'm sure he would want a new contract of some sort.
